Zola sends message to world class act after making big Chelsea decision
Gianfranco Zola has criticised Victor Osimhen’s decision to join Galatasaray after his proposed move to CHELSEA broke down during the back-end of the summer transfer window after months and speculation.
Osimhen as one of the most talked about players of the summer transfer window and a player that the Blues were very much interested in signing – but were never able to get a transfer deal done.
The club revived talks with Napoli in the closing stages of the summer transfer window as there was an opportunity to land the Nigerian star on a loan deal, but were unable to reach an agreement to sign Osimhen before the deadline.
The Nigeria international, who had been pushing to leave Napoli all summer, then went on to make the surprise move to Galatasaray on loan and now Zola has hit out at the striker or his decision to not join us.
When asked for his view on Osimhen’s desire to leave this summer in comparison to Paulo Dybala’s decision turn down a lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League in favour of staying at Roma, Zola told Corriere dello Sport: ‘One is a beautiful story and the other a little less so.
‘Dybala chose with his heart and not with his wallet.
‘But I don’t want to judge, everyone is free to make their own choices.
‘Of course, Paulo’s story is one of those that fills the hearts of those who love football.’
