(Video) This is why Chelsea signed Werner, Winger sent warning ahead of Chelsea move, Werner labelled excellent signing, End of Tammy after deal gets done?
Guys here is a roundup of the latest news, gossip and transfer speculation from icchelseanews.com over the past 24 hours…
Hakim Ziyech will have to get used to being fouled a lot when he arrives at Chelsea, warns former Blues defender Mario Melchiot.
Ziyech is easily regarded as one of the finest wingers in the game and has made a real name for himself with Ajax over the past few seasons, but he has decided that a move to the Premier League will help take his game to that next level.
But Melchiot believes Ziyech will turn out to be a hit in the Premier League, but he will need time to adapt, specifically to the physicality of the English game.
‘In Holland, you have tough games, but in England they come back-to-back – and back-to-back again,’ Melchiot told Goal.
‘The games are tougher and you get fouled a lot. If he manages to get through that, then he will be fine. I think he will do well.’
‘He always wants to show his ability on the ball because he is very technically gifted. He also sees things a lot of players won’t see,’ continued Melchiot.
‘It took some time for him to show his quality at Ajax but once he got himself in the team, he became maybe their most important player.
‘So, I like him a lot and why I think he will do very well at Chelsea.”
Bundesliga expert Kevin Hatchard has lauded Timo Werner as a ‘terrific’ and ‘excellent’ player ahead of his move to Chelsea.
We once again shocked many in the media over the past 24 hours after news broke that they have agreed a £54 million deal to bring the impressive German to the Premier League when the transfer window opens up.
He will help form an exciting attack next season, especially after we also acquired the services of Hakim Ziyech, and Hatchard has opened up and lauded the brilliant little German star.
“That is a very reasonable price for a player who is an established Germany international and for a player who, at the age of 24, has crammed in hundreds of games at senior level,” Hatchard was quoted on TalkSport website
“He has worked very hard on his finishing; you go back to when he was in Stuttgart as a teenager and he spent loads of time training working purely on his finishing so that has improved.
“He’s worked on the psychological aspect of his game; he’s hired a psychologist at times to help him with that.
“And under Julian Nagelsmann at Leipzig this season he’s become a much more rounded footballer; he’s more of a creator now and he can drop a bit deeper and play as a ten sometimes if necessary.
“He isn’t just a one-dimensional speedster in attack, so I think they are getting a terrific player.”

The German superstar has been linked with so many clubs over the past few months after another productive season in the Bundesliga has meant that he has now netted 29-goals in all competitions this summer.
Yes it seems that Liverpool have been his preferred destination, but it is us who need him more and we have a video below that will show fans just why the Blues are willing to pay a massive £54 million for the little superstar.
Steve Nicol has praised Frank Lampard’s move for Timo Werner but believes the deal would ‘spell the end’ for Tammy Abraham at Chelsea.
For the best part of a year the 24-year-old has been linked with a move to Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp said to have called him many times concerning a transfer and Werner himself allegedly wanting to play for Liverpool, but a move to Anfield will not happen as he will rock up at the Bridge
He will be a real challenge for Tammy Abraham, who has firmly established himself as one of the most exciting young strikers in the Premier League, and even in Europe.
Abraham, who was beginning to hit his stride with 15 goals for us this season, appears to approve of the deal after ‘liking’ a post on Instagram on Thursday night – but Nicol reckons the England striker should be concerned for his future at Stamford Bridge.
‘I don’t believe Frank and Chelsea are going to change the way they play,’ the ex-Liverpool defender said on ESPN.
‘And you have to say that signing Werner would spell the end for Tammy Abraham. I mean goodness knows what is going through his head.
‘Allegedly Frank has been telling Werner that he is going to build the team around him so you don’t build your team around a wide midfielder.
‘You build through the spine so that means straight away that Tammy Abraham is in trouble.
‘It’s a good move from Frank though because he is trying to take Chelsea from challenging for the top four to competing at the top for the title.’
I mean Abraham has been brilliant, but we need to add another striker to the side and Tammy needs to be prepared to be ready for the challenge, if not, then he will never make it at a big club.
But we will be very excited to see these two up top next season, wont you guys?
