Zaha should be allowed to leave, Mendy deal already agreed, Rudiger excited by signings, Emerson to help rice deal in Icchelseanews roundup…
Chelsea will try to tempt West Ham into selling Declan Rice by using Emerson Palmieri as a bargaining chip, according to reports.
With Frank Lampard looking to build a side that is more than capable of challenging for that Premier League title next season, Roman Abramovic has backed the club legend financially in the players that he wants to bring to the club.
Rice has become one of the best holding midfielders in the top-flight, and his performances have meant that he is now a full England International, and is valued at around the £80 million mark.
However, despite all the rumours that he would be the next layer to arrive at Stamford Bridge during this transfer window, no deal has taken place simply because of that massive asking price.
But with reports that The Hammers are determined to keep hold of Rice, THE ATHLETIC have claimed transfer chief Marina Granovskaia is considering offering full-back Emerson in part-exchange for the England international.
Reports last month suggested the Stamford Bridge outfit had slapped a £23million price tag on the Italy international, and the reports suggest the Hammers would be interested in a move for Emerson without him arriving as part of a swap deal.
Chelsea have already completed a deal for Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr, Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz have all arrived this summer and it has been reported that Frank Lampard also wants a new goalkeeper and defender.
Kepa may have been backed by the boss over the last 24 hours, but that doesnt hide the fact that Kepa has not impressed like many would have liked over the past 12 months, and once again showed why there has been so much speculation against Brighton.
Now journalist Romano claims we have already finalised an agreement to sign Senegal international Mendy, he Tweeted: “Lampard says he’s happy with Kepa… but Chelsea have already completed the signing of Edouard Mendy with Rennes as new GK. 🔵 #CFC #Chelsea https://t.co/LpAY4KuOKg
If the reports are true and Mendy is coming to the club over the next few days, then he will be a very good signing for the club and the right of challenge that Kepa needs to get back to his very best.
Crystal Palace forward and Long-term Chelsea target Wilfried Zaha should be allowed to leave for a bigger club, according to the Mirror’s Darren Lewis.
Crystal Palace forward Zaha, 27, is regarded as one of the most creative and attacking wingers in the Premier League right now and has been linked with a big move away from the club for the last 12 months.
Zaha almost made the move to join a big club last summer, but his hefty price tag meant that no club wanted to pay £50 million to secure a transfer deal and he had to stay put.
But the winger has been back in the headlines over the past few weeks and we have been linked with a transfer move, even though we do not need anymore wingers, and amid all the speculation, Lewis has claimed that Zaha should be allowed to leave for a bigger club.
The Ivorian has been involved in 60 Premier League goals (37 goals, 23 assists) while at Selhurst Park, 28 more than any other player for the club in the competition.
“He has carried the club at times on his back,” he told Super Sunday Matchday. “It is very easy for people to turn round and criticise players who say they want to move on.
“But he has, he has been a fantastic servant for Palace and if somebody is willing to pay the money, I do not really see any reason why he should not be allowed to go.”
Antonio Rudiger has given his thoughts on Chelsea’s new signings ahead of the new Premier League season.
We have been the most active side in the transfer window this summer and have spent some big money to sign the likes of Ben Chilwell, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech, who are considered to be the best in their positions.
And after seeing the players make the move to Stamford Bridge, Rudiger has opened up and admitted that he is very excited about the players that have been brought in.
On free signing Thiago Silva, defender Rudiger said on the Chelsea website: “He is one of the best of his generation, definitely.
“Of course, first of all, to learn from such a great player and everything, and also to have the chance to play alongside this type of player, it is massive.
“I think it gives everyone a boost and I’m looking forward to it.”
Asked about the arrival of German duo Havertz and Werner, Rudiger said: “It’s important for me, especially with the Germans, to help them and everything because it is the first time they have lived out of Germany.
“To look after them, help them and assist them with everything.
“I’ve known Timo for a long time and we played together in the national team.
“He’s a brilliant player and he’s there to score goals.
“He did that in the friendly match against Brighton and he did that also in the international break, so I hope he’s going to do the same here with us at Chelsea in the future.
“Kai has played in the national team for two years so we have a goodunderstanding too, so they know that I will help them for sure.”
