Inter Milan have been told that Chelsea star Ngolo Kante would be a Wesley Sneijder-esque signing for the club

Kante is easily regarded as one of the best holding midfielders in world football and over the seasons has helped the club to numerous trophies with his ability to protect that back-line.

However, despite the fact he has been quality under Thomas Tuchel since he arrived at the club, there has been some reports in the media which have claimed that Inter are plotting a transfer move in the summer after winning that Seria A title.

And amid all the speculation Former Inter president Massimo Moratti has urged the newly-crowned Serie A champions to rekindle their interest in the Frenchman.

Moratti has told Sky Sport Italia when asked if Kante could be a missing piece in pursuit of future success: “Yes, of course, he is a player who has all the qualities to complete the team in the best possible way.

“I remember when we took Sneijder, we were already very strong but this player, who sped up the game even more, put us in a position to have a team that was not only strong, but exceptional.

“I believe that the same thing could happen by taking Kante, but I only say this as a fan because I know how difficult it is to sign him.”

Look, Kante has become a massive player for us over the season and if they sell him it would be massive mistake from the club. There is nobody in that the club squad that does the job that he does, so he needs to stay.
