Willian opens up and announces £40 million rated Hudson-Odoi to stay at Chelsea

Willian has claimed Bayern Munich target Callum Hudson-Odoi is not leaving Chelsea this month.

Hudson-Odoi is regarded as one of the best talents at Stamford Bridge and his stock has risen over the past few months with a number of impressive performances for the club, despite all the headlines surrounding his future.

Rumours emerged which suggested Bayern were looking to seal a £40 million deal and take him to the Bundesliga, as a replacement for Arjen Robben and on hearing of the Germans interest, reports in the media suggested that Hudson-Odoi is keen to make the switch.

However, we have rejected all offers for the young man and have even rejected his transfer request as we have left a massive £85,000-a-week contract on the table for him to sign.

Nevertheless, the winger is still pushing to leave, but Willian has opened up and claimed that Hudson-Odoi is ‘going nowhere’.

He was quoted on the Metro website: ‘He’s going nowhere – he’s a special talent, a very good player and is staying with us.

‘Of course he is only 18 but he can improve a lot and in the future can become one of the best players in the world.

‘It’s difficult not to think about Bayern Munich because they are a great team as well but for me, his future is here. ‘He has to stay because he knows the club, and I am sure he will play more.’

Here is what we think.

Hudson-Odoi should stop worrying about the interest shown in him by Bayern as we will not sell this January window, and he should also sign that big contract as he will not get a better one from the Germans.

Stamford Bridge is the place for him and moving to the German Bundesliga does not mean that he will get the kind of game time and chances that Jadon Sancho is at Borussia Dortmund.

Hudson-Odoi has just 18 months remaining on his deal in west London.
