Chelsea could sign big name this month for £100 million.

CHELSEA could sign Lautaro Martinez this month if they are willing to cough up £80-100 million, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The January transfer window is now open and it will give the club an opportunity to delve into that transfer kitty and try to add a few more players to the side that are able to make a real difference to the side.

Adding a striker is high up on the agenda, and there has already been some massive names linked with a mega money move to Stamford Bridge over the past couple of months.

The Argentinean forward remains a key player for Inter Milan, registering 18 goals and four assists from 24 appearances across competitions this season. The club are on the hunt for a new No. 9 to lead their line and are long-term admirers of Martinez.

The Nerazzurri are in talks to tie the 26-year-old down to a new deal, and an extension is likely to materialise soon. However, the situation could change should the London giants arrive with a colossal offer, says Jones.

Reporter Iomie Stanley said: ‘Chelsea need a world class striker to score the goals that the club needs – and Martinez would be a quality signing for the club.
