Wenger would be ‘great’ at Chelsea as SDarri has Abramovic message for fans
Arsene Wenger would be a “great” replacement for Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea, according to David Seaman.
After a few months of bad decisions and even poorer results, there is mounting speculation in the media which suggests that Chelsea are ready to get rid of boss Sarri and replace him with the likes of Zinedine Zidane or Frank Lampard.
However, Arsenal legend Seaman has thrown Wenger’s name into the mix after admitting the Frenchman would ‘be great’ if the club were to in fact get rid of Sarri before the end of the season.[the_ad id=”164″]
When asked on talkSPORT whether Wenger should be the next Chelsea boss, Seaman replied: “Yes. There looks like there could be a vacancy there [at Chelsea] quite soon depending on the next three games.
“He’d be great there and he’d be great anywhere because he’s a fantastic manager.”
Meanwhile, Sarri says he hasn’t spoken to owner Roman Abramovich about his position at the club.
A good start to life in the Premier League did not last and over the past few months there has been many questions about his decision making, playing star players out of their position and results that would normally see the back of a former manager.
But despite all the speculation surrounding his future, Sarri has admitted that he has not spoken to the hierarchy about his position at the club, telling the Sky Sports news website: “I have to think I’ll be manager of Chelsea for a long time otherwise I cannot work. I am not sure (if I will be here for a long time), but I have to think this. I have to work and I want to work with a long-range target.
“Of course in this moment it’s very difficult to think we’re able to win three, four matches in a row. As you know very well in football everything can change in one day.”
