Jorginho helping new signing Silva settle, Chelsea make Zakaria contact, Wenger makes Griezmann claim and Upamecano to solve issues

Chelsea are aiming to pip Manchester United and Manchester City to the signing of Denis Zakaria in January, according to reports.

It is no secret that Frank Lampard wanted to add a holding midfielder to the side in the summer transfer window, but with the amount of money that he spent on signing players like Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz, he could not get to do that.

There was alot of speculation that Declan Rice is the man that he really wants to come in and possibly do that job but with West Ham asking silly money and the player reportedly set to get a contract offer, Lampard is now switching his attempts to Zakaria.

However, the January window is just a few months away and speculation has already started that we are just one of a number of clubs that have shown an interest in Zakaria, and have even made contact with the player about a possible deal.

Reports on the Daily Express website have suggested that the club are looking to beat off both Manchester giants in the January window and are prepared to meet his £40 million asking price, which is alot less than what Rice would cost the club.

Dayot Upamecano is the man that Chelsea need to make a move for next in the transfer windows

Upamecano has become one of the most sought after young defenders in the game after helping RB Salzburg reach the latter stages of the Champions League last season, and a whole host of elite clubs are ready to pay £54 million and get a transfer deal done.

Lampards men can simply not keep clean-sheets and it is costing them massive points, although their draw at Sevilla on Tuesday evening ended up being 0-0, and giving Lampard the clean sheet he has been craving for.

And with the January window just a few months away, there has been talk that we will reignite their interest in signing Declan Rice, who they were keen on during the summer transfer window, but we should forget him for now and make the move for Upamecano.

Young, talented, a leader and already proven in the Champions League, he is a player that will be joining one of the big clubs in the next few transfer windows, and if we miss out, it will be a massive mistake.

If we wish to challenge for that Premier League title, then having a top-class attack will simply not do it, as even the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool put so much emphasis on keeping clean sheets.

Upamecano is certainly a player that many fans have been hoping that a move could be made for over the last few months, so with the club still having issues at the back that will put real danger to their chances of getting back inside those top four spots Lampard needs to do something

If Lionel Messi decides to stay at Barcelona, then long-term Chelsea transfer target Antione Griezmann may decide to leave.

It is no secret in the media that Messi is no longer happy at Barcelona, that the club legend was seeking a move away in the transfer window and only stayed because he was not allowed to leave the club for free like he had hoped.

But if he does decide to stay at the club, it could mean that Griezmann would seek a move away from Barcelona, as he is currently being overshadowed by the Argentine, and is not able to express himself like he does for the French side.

After firing at least 20 goals in each of the last six seasons, Griezmann scored just 15 times in 48 games in his first season for Barca, a disappointing haul given the €120m (£107m/$134m) fee required to bring him to the club.

He has largely been played out of position since joining Barca, and because of that fact, former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he is unable to shine as he is forced to defer to Messi.

“Not playing at his position is complicated in the long term,” Wenger told beIN Sports. “At the start, the guy accepts it but, if he does not meet his needs in the long term and he feels that the position does not allow him to express his qualities, he will become discouraged.

“Today, he is a player who must play in the centre because he has a great work rate, a precision in his passes. He can be dangerous with the last pass and by scoring goals, but there is congestion because he is in the range of play of Messi.”

Jorginho has revealed how he is helping Thiago Silva settle in to Chelsea after his summer move from PSG.

After months of speculation and rumours, Frank Lampard finally managed to sign the leader that he was looking for when the club finally decided to hand Thiago a contract that would see him make the move to England.

is seen as a key figure in the back line even though his knowledge of English is minimal, but Brazil-born Italian Jorginho acts as unofficial translator in the dressing room — and it is helping the team iron out defensive woes.

Midfielder Jorginho, 28, said on the SUN: “When he has some questions or some doubts he asks me and I try to help him if I can, because my English is not that great.

“I have taught him ‘man on’, ‘turn’ or if he is on the other side ‘switch play’. Things that you need on the pitch. ‘Man on’, ‘drop’ or ‘up’.

“We try to help each other. That’s what you do on and off the pitch.

“He is happy here. He is a big personality, a big player with lots of experience.

“He is helping all of us as a group, the younger players, everyone.

“He finds a way to communicate, whether it is with his hands or he speaks to me and I give the information to the other guys.  We find a way.”

That greats from Jorginho, as we need Silva to lead that back-line and bark orders and he cant do that if he does not speak the language
