Bundesliga star Weigl drops transfer hint as Wenger sends Kante warning to Chelsea boss Sarri
Chelsea target Julian Weigl has hinted he could be up for leaving Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
We are all set to lose a number of players during the summer transfer window as Eden Hazard, Willian, N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic are all linked with moves away, with the latter expected to return to parent club Real Madrid when his loan here finishes.
[the_ad id=”164″]That has led to reports that we could make a move for Dortmund star Weigl, who is regarded as one of the finest players in the Bundesliga and was linked with a move away from the Germans during the January window, before they blocked a deal.
And although he feels Borussia Dortmund blocking a January move showed the club’s ‘appreciation’ of him, he was coy when asked if he will see out the remainder of his contract, which lasts until 2021 – according to Bild.
“You will see,” Weigl said.
“I cannot say what’s going on in the summer.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal legend Arsene Wenger has told Maurizio Sarri how to get the best out of midfielder N’Golo Kante.
Despite being rated the best holding midfielder in world football Sarri has decided that Kante is no longer the man he wants in a deep lying position and instead has used Jorginho, despite the fact he has had a very tough first season in the Premier League.
[the_ad id=”164″]And after seeing us get knocked out by Manchester United in the FA Cup, Wenger has told Sarri that Kante is being played in the wrong position.
Wenger said on the Metro website: ‘Phenomenal. To have a successful team you need to have somebody, or some players, who sacrifice themselves for the team. Don’t talk, do it.
‘When you lose the ball in front of you, he just works for you to win it back and he gives it back in the proper way.
‘People who have maybe a smaller ego, but a bigger spirit of sacrifice, usually they make the difference.
‘We spoke about Brazil, in Brazil they had a player that I bought, Gilberto Silva, who had a similar role in 2002 in the success of the Brazilian national team in Japan.’
