Perez gives £88m man green light to sign with Chelsea, Boss admits midfielder heading back to Chelsea and Chelsea issued £150m Kane message
Perez gives Varane green light to make move away, Midfielder heading back to Chelsea and Kane transfer message sent in Chelsea roundup..
Florentino Perez has given the green light for Chelsea linked Raphael Varane to leave the club at the end of the season.
Tuchel has done a wonderful job as boss since his arrival just a few months ago and they are now on course to get back inside that top four spot, while also add a trophy to the cabinet in the Champions League or FA Cup.
But now we have emerged as serious contenders, according to German publication Bild, due to Thomas Tuchel’s interest in the player.
The Frenchman is out of contract at the end of 2022 and Madrid do not want to lose one of the clubs most important players for nothing, so they would reportedly be more willing to sell in the transfer window this time around.
Varane, for his part, is said to be open to a new challenge having spent a decade at the Bernabeu but it remains to be seen what Madrid will demand for the Frenchman, with a £60m asking price mooted.
Now, amid the speculation, Perez has opened up and announced that players that are no longer keen on playing for Madrid can leave if they wish: “Varane? I’m happy with our team… if players don’t want to stay at Madrid they can leave,’ said Perez on AS.
Perez was the brains behind the European Super League and the Spaniard is not giving up hope that the proposal can go ahead, even withstanding the withdrawls of the six Premier League clubs.
Look, if the club are interested in adding another defender to that back-line in the summer, then they would be very wise to spend their money to try and land Varane.
Ross Barkley will be heading back to Chelsea in the summer after Aston Villa boss Dean Smith made a transfer admission over the star.
Having struggled for regular game time as part of a star-studded squad at Stamford Bridge, a loan move was always expected to be put in place this season, and Barkley jumped at the chance to join Villa.
Across 20 outings in the English top flight for Villa, Barkley has registered three goals and one assist, but More was expected and he will face another big decision on his future when returning to west London over the summer.
Villa boss Smith told reporters when asked if an extended stay for Barkley will be explored: “No, Ross Barkley came in on loan at the start of the season.
“Obviously, Frank Lampard was the manager at the time we brokered a deal to bring him in on loan.
[the_ad id=”164”]“He’s got another two years left on his contract at Chelsea and that’s not been discussed at all.”
Barkley is a wonderfully gifted player that has never quite reached the level of quality that many had hoped when he burst onto the scene as a teenager, but the best thing for him would be to give it one more go at the club.
Chelsea target Harry Kane must leave Tottenham if he wants to win trophies regularly says Dimitar Berbatov.
Kane is easily regarded as one of the finest strikers in world football right now and is well on course to have one of his best ever seasons as a forward, already netting 31-goals this season and adding 16-assists.
That has led to rumours that he could leave the club at the end of the season as he wants to add trophies to the cabinet, which has meant that we have been linked.
And amid that constant speculation, Berbatov has told the striker he needs to leave the club he toldThe Telegraph: “I was thinking about my own success, my personal path in football because me, coming from a small country, I always wanted my whole career to play for one football club like Maldini, like Giggs.
“Then when you hear that one of the biggest clubs wants you after you’ve tasted the success of winning a trophy, let me tell you something, things change dramatically. Because you think, ‘this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to win more, so I’m not going to miss it’.
“That’s why I took that decision and, probably, we will see it happen again soon because Harry Kane is in my position now where I was before. It’s difficult, it’s stressful, a lot of questions in your head, but in the end I needed to write my own story in football.”
Look, Kane is world class, but would we actually welcome him to the club?
