Lampard told £87 million price to pay, £52 million man advised ahead of possible Chelsea move, Rivaldo announces Chelsea target should be sold now
Guys here is a roundup of the latest Chelsea news, gossip and transfer talk from icchelseanews over the past 24 hours.
This summer could be the ‘right opportunity’ for Barcelona to sell forward and Chelsea target Ousmane Dembele, according to Nou Camp legend Rivaldo.
Dembele, 22, arrived from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 for a staggering £135.5million with many believing he would help ease the pain of losing Brazilian superstar Neymar, but injuries have plagued his time at the Bernabeu and he has not fulfilled his potential.
That has led to alot of transfer speculation in the media on a daily basis that Dembele could be sold at the end of the season, especially with the Coronavirus hitting clubs financially, and we are keen on a move.
Frank Lampard does not need to add to his wing areas of the pitch as he has enough quality, but we have been constantly linked with a move, as they seek to try and build a squad that is more than capable of challenging for that Premier League title.
And the fact that Dembele would be a cheaper option that top target Jadon Sancho, means he will be on the shopping list in the summer.
And they have been given a real boost after Rivaldo claimed that this could be the perfect opportunity for Barcelona to sell: “Dembele signed for Barcelona almost three years ago and he has already had enough time to establish himself in the club and prove his value. It’s possible that he will never show his quality at the club,” Rivaldo told Betfair.
“He is still a player with huge potential, but I think this summer could be the right opportunity for Barcelona to sell or even exchange him for a player they’re chasing already.”
Chelsea have been told Kai Havertz’s valuation will NOT drop because of the impact of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The season is still in full swing and there is a lot of time between now and the summer to discuss possible targets for Frank Lampard, but that has not stopped all the speculation linking the club with a £100 million move for Bundesliga sensation Havertz.
Havertz has become one of the most sought after players in the game, as he has scored 20 goals and provided four assists in all competition this season, meaning that this will be his most productive campaign to date.
Lampard knows that with the likes of Willian heading out of the club and winger Pedro almost certainly on his way too, he will need to spend some big money and try to find a long-term replacement who he can mould into the perfect player.
It is believed that he will cost less that that £100 million price tag and WE will only need to pay around £87 million to complete a possible transfer deal, and now they have been told that asking price will not drop.

The midfielder recently come out and admitted that he is ready to take that next step.
“I’m ready to take a big step, and I like challenges. For me, this also includes abroad,” Havertz told Sport BILD
“Leverkusen are a great club, I feel good. I have always said that. But, of course, I want to take the next step in my career at some point. That’s my ambition”
Chelsea transfer target Dayot Upamecano should stay at RB Leipzig during the summer window, the defender has been told.
Now Look, There has been so much speculation and rumours in the media over the past few weeks about whom Frank Lampard will sign in the summer, to sort his dodgy back-line out, to improve that midfield area, and a possible striker to come in and help out Tammy Abraham
But there has also been constant rumours that we are interested, maybe even desperate, to sign up the impressive Upamecano, who is easily regarded as one of the finest young centre-backs in the game having helped RB become a very exciting, and entertaining to watch.
It is believed that we will make a summer move, it is believed that we will offer £52 million, and it is also believed that RB will say HELL no, ‘we want more’ as they rate the talent very highly, but still, we will make a move anyways.
But amid all the transfer speculation, Bayern Munich legend Lothar Matthaus has advised the centre-back to continue his development with the Bundesliga challengers: “I can see him playing for all the big club when he gets more experience,” Matthaus told Sky Sports in Germany.
“If he does leave, he needs to make sure his new coach or club gives him the confidence to play regularly – as he is doing at Leipzig.
“He’s a young player, highly rated, fast, has a good positional game and uses his body well for a 21-year-old. But a year or two in Leipzig would not hurt him.”
Upamecano is still very young and does not need to make that move to a big club just yet, so even though we are interested and keen to get a deal done, it probably is not the right time for the young man to move as the Premier League could end up breaking him.
