Paul Ince believes Chelsea target Declan Rice has been the best midfielder in the Premier League this season.

Rice has been a name that has been in the headlines alot over the past few days as there has been constant rumours in the media that a number of the Premier Leagues big clubs are eyeing up a potential move

It is no secret that we are massive fans and have been linked with a move for the midfielder for the last couple of windows, but have not made a move as Rice seemingly did not want to leave West Ham

However, after another impressive season in which he could help West Ham get Champions League football, it is widely believed that we will make a massive offer in the transfer window and try to FINALLY get a deal done.

And amid all the speculation, Ince believes Declan Rice has been the best midfielder in the Premier League this season

Speaking to Genting Casino, Ince said: “Declan Rice has been outstanding in the last year, probably the best midfielder in the Premier League.

“It’s always tough as a West Ham boy to leave your home club, but when teams like United come calling it’s definitely the next step over all the other top clubs.

“He has to consider them over the others. He’s one of those players that can do that and then go on to somewhere like Barcelona and win titles. But at the moment he’s captain of West Ham, playing under a good manager in Moyes, they’re vying for the Champions League spots.”

Until the window actually opens up and we make a move for the player, it will all be speculation. But sorry Hammersfans, as you will be very lucky to keep hold of the player in the transfer window
