Tuchel drops Kounde hint, Blues tipped to sign Rice and Tuchel makes big admission in latest Chelsea news….

Thomas Tuchel has admitted that Trevor Chalobah’s emergence could see Chelsea slow down their pursuit of Sevilla defender Jules Kounde.

Kounde is one of the most talked about young players in world football after developing into the kind of defender that most top clubs are looking to spend big money on in the coming windows, and we are a club that are reportedly interested in a deal.

The latest reports have claimed that they are willing to splash the cash in January to get a deal done, but the emergence of Chalobah may see the Blues NOT MAKE A MOVE for the talented young man

Chalobah was initially supposed to go out on loan this term but his early-season performances convinced Tuchel to keep him at the club and this week, he signed a new contract through 2026.

“I think every transfer period you need to evaluate again because you cannot say what we wanted in the summer we do in the winter or the next summer. It is not like this,” Tuchel said.

“Your opinion changes, players change, you have evolvement in the group. You have atmosphere that you build, you see who is absolutely reliable and these connections build up and create something special, hopefully, in the group.

“So you cannot say what we tried in the summer did not happen so we will try again for sure in the winter. Sometimes it is like this if we see the same need, but clearly Trevoh is now here with us and he deserves to be here with us. It had nothing to do with if we can sign another central defender or not.

“But he stepped up. The responsibility was even more on his shoulders and he can handle it so far in a very impressive way. This is the situation and it has an effect on our next decisions in the next transfer period. It is always like this.”

Chelsea are once again being tipped to try and acquire the services of West Ham star Declan Rice

After failing to make the grade at the club, Rice has now established as one of the most consistent performers in the Premier League, and one of the best holding midfielders in Europe right now

That has led to alot of speculation in the media that we are the front-runners to try and get a deal done, especially as they need a long-term replacement for the ageing Ngolo Kante

However, despite the speculation, the club have so far failed to make a formal offer to get a deal done and many believe that they are no longer interested in a possible transfer deal

However, after his impressive display against Liverpool at the weekend, there is more speculation that Thomas Tuchel would indeed like to bring him to the club

And any such move would certainly win the approval of legend John Terry. Having set up a Twitter account recently, the former Blues skipper was quick to administer praise for Rice.

“Declan Rice is the best in his position in world football. What a player,” Terry stated.

However, Any deal for Rice is likely to cost his suitors close to a British record fee.

The midfielder himself also appears in no mood to consider leaving the Irons and is very much focused on helping West Ham climb higher.

“We are joint third,” said Rice recently. “The big question people asked before the season was whether we could do it again after qualifying for Europe. We’ve found out we can.

“But there are still a lot more games to go. This is the level, the standard. We can’t drop if we want to be a big team.

“I can definitely add [goals] to my game, I have four this season. It doesn’t get better with the feeling of scoring a goal.

“We won 4-1 but we were so sloppy in the second half. We gave the ball away so much. The manager won’t be happy. There were times we could have countered and gave it away.”

Thomas Tuchel has opened up and announced that he would like to stay at Chelsea for the long term

After deciding to leave PSG just a few seasons ago, the board made the big decision to bring Thomas Tuchel to the club in hope he could get them back to winning the games biggest trophies

He brought in quality in all the key areas of the pitch and after a very successful summer window, has made this side arguably the best squad in Europe, and a side that is very much capable of winning alot of trophies in the coming seasons

And now Tuchel, who was appointed manager in January, has said he is hoping to stay with the club for a long time: “I can tell you today I will do my very best to stay as long as possible because I like where I am and I enjoy working every single day in this club and in this league,” Tuchel said on the club website

“For me it is a perfect fit. From here we go but it’s a weekly business, maybe it’s a daily business, and I am fully aware of it.”

Tuchel could go on to win the Premier League and Champions League title this season and make the board very happy, but Roman Abramovic is ruthless and Tuchel will need to know that he needs to keep the club at the level they are now or he will lose his job

He may want to stay long-term, but at the end of the day, results will keep him at the club
