Chelsea are interested in signing Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig this summer.

The 24-year-old has been in impressive form during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 18 goals and registering 13 assists in 30 appearances in all competitions.

Nkunku managed seven goals and two assists in six appearances in the group stages of this season’s Champions League, and there has been a host of speculation surrounding his future.

We are believed to be interested in the Frenchman, who is capable of operating in a number of different positions in the final third of the field, as Thomas Tuchel looks to add some more quality to his squad.

The German has not been impressed with many of his star players this season, and it is widely believed that he will look to overhaul the squad in the transfer window.

However, the club will have a fight on their hands to sign Nkunku, as the talented young man has reportedly been told that he will not able to leave this coming summer window.

RB Leipzig director Oliver Mintzlaff was Speaking to Sky Deutschland, RB Leipzig chief Oliver Mintzlaff said: “He [Nkunku] will also play with us next season because of course he is a very important player.

The Director can say what he likes right now, but at the end of the day if Chelsea show interest, if the board make a big enough offer and Nkunku says that he wants to leave, we are sure that RB will let him leave

We are a club that need to be revamped in the summer, Thomas Tuchel needs the backing from the board to bring in players that will close the gap on Manchester City and Liverpool
