Chelsea submit Haaland offer, Tuchel wants Gimenez and Tuchel asks for Torres deal in Chelsea latest news…

Chelsea’s reported mega-money offer for Erling Haaland ‘defies sense’, Simon Jordan has declared

The transfer window is just a few weeks from opening and that means that Thomas Tuchel will look to get the players that he believes will help bring that Premier League title to Stamford Bridge

Reports on Monday linked the Blues with a whopping £174million move to sign the Borussia Dortmund sensation as Thomas Tuchel steps up his pursuit of a goalscorer this summer.

Haaland is already one of the most deadly strikers in world football and netted a very impressive 41-goals last season, which means that he has already netted a stunning 170 goals in his career, and he is only 20.

But talkSPORT pundit Jordan believes the proposed transfer is further proving his view that money is killing the game and making it impossible for smaller clubs to compete.

“When you’re talking about players being bought for £60m, £70m or £80m – aren’t we already pushing the envelope?”, said the White and Jordan host.

“When we start to move into the territory of a quarter of a billion pounds, or the best part of 20 per cent of a billion – you’re moving into a territory that is ludicrous.

“It’s ridiculous, and that’s before the idea that he’s going to get £25m, £26m or £27m-a-year.

“It’s not because I’m a football club owner who’s had his head handed to him economically, but because it’s something fundamentally wrong with these numbers.

“They’re not justified, these are football players that are operating in an industry that isn’t awash with money, it isn’t justifying it.

“He’s not like a movie star who carries £150m for a studio. Most football clubs are economically on the cusp of not making money. They may have some capital value if one day someone comes along and spends £3bn on x, y and z – which has has never yet happened, by the way.

“For me, it just feels like it defies logic, it defies sense and there’s no justification behind it.”

He added: “It’s going to need to be a long term investment but like anything, you can’t guarantee the performance of a player or the longevity of how long his career will be.

“We’ve got a player who is operating at a very high level at 20 years or age, but when you get into territory of £150m quid, it’s starting to make football ridiculous.

“Neymar’s PSG transfer was ridiculous, it was obscene. It’s a vulgar spend of money and it’s driving up a wage structure that is insane.”

Atletico Madrid star Jose Gimenez is a player that Thomas Tuchel would like to be signed by Chelsea in the transfer window.

Ex-boss Frank Lampard was handed some serious money last transfer window to improve all areas of the squad, and he spent his money well as the players that he managed to acquire has made this Blues squad one of the best in the Premier League.

But Thomas Tuchel is a man that wants to put his own stamp on this side in the coming window, and there has been alot of speculation that the German is interested in bringing Gomez to Stamford Bridge.

Gimenez is fast becoming one of the most solid defenders in the game right now and is attracting all sorts of interest from the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid and PSG for his very impressive performances in that Madrid shirt.

The Uruguayan has been at Atletico Madrid since 2013 and won his second La Liga title with the club this season, making 21 league appearances in an injury-hit campaign.

He has a very high price tag that the club would have to meet and pay, roughly around the £70 million mark, and would need some convincing that a move to the Premier League would be the best option for him.

Now reports on  DAILY EXPRESS WEBSITE, has claimed that Tuchel has given a list of targets to Roman Abramovic ahead of the transfer window and Gimenez is a player that he is very interested in.

However, despite all the speculation that we are keen on a deal, he has come out and sent a very clear message to Tuchel about possibly making a move to Stamford Brudge during the summer window.

‘I’m not leaving Atlético Madrid this summer. I’ve no doubt, I’m staying,’ he said via Carrusel Deportivo after the club’s title celebrations.

Look, the club have added the right players to that squad that have impressed so far this season, but Gimenez is a player that is on another level and a player that would be a great partner for Silva, and then an immediate replacement for the Brazilian.

Thomas Tuchel has told the board that he would like Chelsea to sign Pau Torres in the transfer window.

Under the guidance of Thomas Tuchel, we have become one of the most defensively sound clubs in the Premier League and one side that will challenge for that Premier League title next season.

But Thiago Silva is coming towards the very end of his playing days at the top level and it has been speculated on many occasions this season that Tuchel will look to sign a more long-term replacement, with Torres on the shopping list.

Torres has become one of the most sought after young defenders in world football after helping Villareal win that Europa League against Manchester United, and many clubs are reportedly ready to meet his asking price of £55 million.

Now reports on the Daily Express has claimed that Tuchel has given a list of targets to Roman Abramovic ahead of the transfer window and Torres is a player that is high up of players that he would like.

Amid the speculation, Villarreal president Fernando Roig has recently said that he will not stand in Pau Torres’ way if enticing offers are tabled this summer, Roig told El Transistor on the speculation that Torres is generating and the chances of him moving on: “If they arrive with the money and the player wants to move, but there must be an agreement between all three parties.”

The 24-year-old product of Villarreal’s academy system admits that a transfer will form part of his future.

He has told Sport: “Players who have gone through important clubs, when they talk about an experience they have had, I like to listen to them, both Paco Alcacer and Raul Albiol or Alberto Moreno. They tell you things that you have not yet experienced and that you think you would like to experience.”

There is no doubt that Torres is a quality defender that would be a very good addition to the Premier League
