£100 million star ‘Exactly what Chelsea need’ – Board told

Jason Cundy is certainly a big fan of Ivan Toney and claimed that he is exactly the striker CHELSEA need.

After establishing himself as one of the very best strikers in the Premier League, Ivan Toney is a striker that all the big clubs have been keeping a close eye on over the past 12 months.

It is no secret that the club are in dire need of adding a new striker to that front line and have been linked with a host of strikers including Evan Ferguson, Ivan Toney, Victor Osimhen and Karim Benzema, with the team languishing down in ninth in the Premier League table.

However – with the Financial Fair Plays rules keeping all the Premier League clubs on their toes – there has not been too much business this January transfer window, which has frustrated alot of fans.

But amid the speculation – former Blues star Pat Nevin has opened up and revealed that Ivan Toney is exactly the kind of forward that we need, he said: “If we find out by the end of the transfer window Ivan Toney has signed a three-and-a-half year contract at Chelsea, I’d be delighted. He is exactly what Chelsea need.

“We haven’t replaced [Diego] Costa. CHELSEA need that physical presence. We are a better team when a physical presence is up top. It’s as simple as that. He ticks that box.”

There has been so much transfer speculation and rumours – we should have signed Toney last summer – they should have tried to get a deal done before now – so we feel that he will not make the move to Stamford Bridge.
