Thiago boost, Havertz message, Stones talks held, Chelsea urged to sign up Willian in icchelseanews daily roundup…
Liverpool have yet to make an approach for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara, which has opened the door for Chelsea to make a move.
There has been some shock reports circling the media over the past few weeks that Thiago is done in the Bundesliga and is keen to leave Bayern in the transfer widow, with reports suggesting that Liverpool are winning the race to sign the Brazilian star.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp knows that he needs to improve the squad in the summer and reports suggested that he was keen to try and complete a bargain £31 million transfer deal to sign Thiago.
However, according to Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Thiago had held talks with sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic but no offers had been made yet, meaning that we could swoop in and try to get a deal done.
Speaking at the unveiling of summer signing Leroy Sane: “Hasan had talks with Thiago,” Rummenigge was quoted on BILD
“Curiously they were always very positive. But he told Hasan some time ago that he wants to do something new to finish his career.
“So far no club has contacted us. We don’t know if he’s settled things with a new club.”
Bayer Leverkusen boss Peter Bosz is “confident” Chelsea target Kai Havertz will be around for next month’s Europa League campaign.
If you believe many of the reports in the media, then he has already agreed to make the move to London, but is just waiting for the season to be officially over next month to make that move to London.
Leroy Sane even let slip at his Bayern Munich unveiling that a deal had been done, but no deal has been announced by the German club or the club just yet.
But should Havertz be confirmed by the club, there are question marks over whether he will join immediately or link up with Frank Lampard’s squad at the end of August, But the Bundesliga side’s boss Bosz is confident he will be able to call upon Havertz when Leverkusen face Rangers in their Europa League round of 16 second leg on August 6.
Leverkusen manager Peter Bosz told BILD: “Kai Havertz will be there right at the start of the training session.
“I am confident he will also be with us in the Europa League.”
Chelsea have held internal discussions over a swoop for Manchester City defender John Stones.
Pep Guardiola has one of the best squads in the game right now and is tipped to add another centre-back to his squad this summer, with reports that he is keen to acquire the services of Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly.
And that has led to some speculation in the media suggesting that he will need to offload a defender this transfer window to make room for a possible signing, with Stones one player tipped to leave the club.
We have been long-term admirers of the Englishman, and with Frank Lampard seeking to add a proven Premier League defender to his side, there is now an opportunity for us to swoop in and tempt Stones to London.
Frank Lampard’s team have a poor defensive record and are looking to sign a centre-back in the summer, with the football insider claiming that they have held internal discussions over a swoop for the England International
Stones is brilliant on the ball and is a top-class defender that shouldnt be sitting on the bench, so if there is an opportunity to sign him up in the summer for the right amount of money, we should make the move.
Graeme Souness reckons Chelsea should stump up a three-year deal to keep hold of their “best player” Willian.
Willian has been in the headlines for the last few months as there has been constant reports suggesting that he wants to stay this summer, but is not being offered the three-year deal that he wants.
It is understood that we are only willing to offer an extra two years to the Brazilian winger – which has caused for much frustration to the fans, club and the player himself that clearly wants to stay.
And amid all the speculation, Souness reckons the club would regret letting Willian slip through the cracks and believes that they should offer him the three-year contract that he currently desires.
He told Sky Sports: “I think he’s their best player. He wants a three-year [deal], they’ve offered two. I’d be giving it to him
“You watch him play, he doesn’t look like a player to me whose legs are going anytime soon and he’s got great qualities.
“So I would be bending over backwards to keep him at the football club.”
Willian has been a big part of the side since the re-start of football and has been impressing for us, so yes he deserves a new contract.
But with all the exciting players that could be arriving this summer, his time at the club would be over, so maybe signing the two-year deal is the best option for him, as he would then have options when that contract runs out.
Will he stay? we dont know…but all indications suggest that he wont
