Tuchel backs new Chelsea owners, £120m man told to make transfer, Tuchel stay claim
Fans have been told that Tuchel to stay, Declan Rice has been told to leave West Ham and boss backs new owners in Chelsea roundup…
Gary Neville expects Thomas Tuchel to stay at Stamford Bridge following the Chelsea takeover, despite all the suggestions that Man United could tempt him away from the club
Since Tuchel arrived at the club, he has turned this Chelsea side into the Champions of Europe and the Champions of Europe, all within the space of 12 months, and despite his sides lack of goal this season, they could still add another trophy to the cabinet
But his future at the club has been cast into serious doubts over the past few weeks after the sanctioning of the club, and there has been some rumours that he is now ready to jump ship and leave the Blues
Asked if Tuchel should stay at Chelsea or look to leave this summer, former Manchester United and England defender Neville told Sky Sports: ‘I think Thomas Tuchel will stay.
‘With Chelsea, we’ve seen the reports over the past 24 hours, they are going to swap one multi-billionaire for another, so they are not going to be weaker from a financial point of view.
‘If he is settled there, he’s got a good team, he’s achieved success, I don’t think he’d leave if the new ownership came in – and obviously all the restrictions were removed – and gave him the right support on building a project.
‘I think when new owners come into a football club that is a really exciting time for a manager because he will be able to exploit the fact that they are going to need to put money into the team and new owners have to put money into the team.
‘That’s the first thing fans look for them to do – are you going to support the football side of the business? I think that’s what they’ll have to do in the summer, so they might get £150m-£200m off the new ownership.’
We know that new owners like to change the managers when they take over a new club, but Tuchel is one of the best in world football and they would be massive fools to even think about letting him leave
Paul Merson has urged West Ham star and long-term Chelsea Declan Rice to leave the club when the summer transfer window officially opens up.
Rice is a a player that is easily regarded as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and a man that is heavily tipped to join one of the big clubs in the next transfer window
It is no secret that Chelsea are long-term admirers of the player, and despite all the headlines about the takeover of the club, are still planning a summer move for the midfielder, if the new owner hands Thomas Tuchel some funds
And despite the fact that West Ham do not want to lose Declan Rice in the transfer window, Merson has opened up and encouraged the England Midfielder to leave the Hammers in the coming window
‘Declan Rice should strike while the iron’s hot and leave West Ham this summer,’ Merson told the Daily Star
‘He’s taken his game to another level this season and is playing N’Golo Kante now, affecting things at both ends of the pitch.
‘I’d be surprised if Declan Rice is playing for West Ham next season. They have completely punched above their weight for months.
‘Where could he go? Depends what happens at Chelsea and who buys the club. Manchester United would be a good move, but will they get in the Champions League? That’s where Rice wants to play.
‘They play Tottenham this weekend and playing Spurs should always be a big game for West Ham but the Europa League game against Sevilla was a bigger one.
‘West Ham have gone past Spurs, and to be honest I don’t know how Tottenham have allowed that to happen. You just hope West Ham don’t miss out on the Champions League by a point or two, because they will be kicking themselves. They will be wondering why they didn’t go out and get another striker in January.’
West Ham do not want to lose one of the clubs best transfer windows, but if Chelsea come calling, he will leave
Thomas Tuchel is confident Chelsea’s next owner – or ownership group – will continue the trend of competing for the biggest trophies and competing at the very highest level of the game
We all know that long-serving Roman Abramovic had to put the club up for sale after the Government sanctioned him for his connections with the Russian villain Vladimir Putin.
And we all know that there are around 20 interested parties keen on securing a £2 billion-plus deal for the club, but New York-based merchant bank Raine closed the bidding for Chelsea at 9pm on Friday Evening and will evaluate the offers received before creating a shortlist.
It’s the vast sum required to purchase Chelsea from Roman Abramovich that has given Tuchel confidence the club’s next owner will want to maintain the success and continue the trend of winning trophies on a year basis.
“It is a huge amount of money,” the Blues’ head coach said at his pre-match press conference. “That’s why I am also confident because I think if somebody buys a club for this kind of money then it’s about challenging at the highest kind of level, then it’s about trophies, then it’s about winning and it’s about being the best you can.
“It’s not about developing a project, it’s not about making money with the club.”
He Added: “The responsibility and the attitude come with what you sign up for,” Tuchel said today. “If you sign up for Chelsea, you sign up for winning and you sign up for being competitive. This is what you have to deal with.
“Nobody could imagine we have to deal with these political circumstances in Europe, and nobody knew we would have a change of ownership as a consequence. But from the talks I had [with the club before taking charge], it was just an instant feeling that it was a very good fit and that it was very, very clear what Chelsea demands of you.
“So, as you know, we talked about it. It was an 18-month contract. For some minutes, I had the feeling that are they not trusting me, but then I turned it around. I looked at it and said, ‘it’s ok, I have to earn my trust’. It’s always like this and it will be with the new owner and was with the last owner. It will never change, no matter if you have a long-term contract or short-term contract.”
