CHELSEA have been informed that they will need to improve their offer for Elyse Wahi if they want to sign the striker this summer.

The club have been doing alot of transfer business already this summer – with some high-profile players leaving the club and a few big names making the move to Stamford Bridge.

Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson has been brought into the club – but they are not strikers that are out-and0out forwards and that has led to rumours that Wahi is a man that the club are very interested in signing.

WHAT IS THE LATEST –

Montpellier president Laurent Nicollin told local newspaper Midi Libre that “the amount offered didn’t meet our expectations”.

L’Equipe follow up this report by claiming Nicollin is ‘open’ to selling Wahi for the right price, and The French newspaper says the board’s ‘initial offer’ worth €27.5m without bonuses was rejected.

Montpellier remain ‘open to negotiation’ although the club will need to ‘increase their offer’, but Wahi is hoping to join the Londoners ‘quickly’,

SHOUL CHELSEA PAY FOR WAHI?

He is a player that the club will need to be patient with.

He is very young – he has alot to learn and the Premier League is not for everybody – so yes he would be a massive risk.

We believe that if the board are looking to sign a striker in this transfer window they need to sign somebody that is already proven at the top and that can make an immediate impact.

Wahi is a talent – but we have enough of them already.
