Striker reveals why he joined Chelsea this summer window
CHELSEA summer signing Marc Guiu has denied reports he left Barcelona for money, and revealed why he joined the Blues.
The club activated a £5m release clause in his Barca contract to sign the striker after the 18-year-old reportedly rejected a new deal at the Spanish giants, as they wanted to keep hold of the lad for another couple of seasons.
Guia has been very impressive in pre-season for the Blues and looks like a player that could have a big part to play for the club over the next season, but many have claimed that a move to Stamford Bridge only happened because of money.
However – Guiu has denied reports he left Barcelona for money, and revealed why he joined the club -The striker told BBC Sport of his decision to leave Barca: “It was not an issue with my contract. I’ve always dreamt of playing in the Premier League and Chelsea is a great club with a lot of history.
“It was a tough decision but it was an amazing opportunity, so I had to go for it.”

Guia has been looking like a very talented player for the club since his move to Stamford Bridge – and to be honest – has looked like a player that could make an impact at the club over the next season.
The club have been making signings and bringing in players that have had long-term deals – but who cares if he has joined because of a bigger contract offer than what Barca offered?
He said he wanted the move – that is it.
