Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip from us that we think you may have missed –

Cesar Azpilicueta was in floods of tears as he penned his farewell message to CHELSEA after 11 years with the club.

The 33-year-old posted a highly emotional video on the club’s Twitter page where he struggled to get through his message without choking up, saying: ‘It’s difficult to express with words what I feel.

‘It has been incredible. And just, thank you to everyone, because it couldn’t have happened without the help of a lot of people. What a journey.

‘This is my home and I hope to see everybody here back one day. The love they have showed me every single time is something that I’m really proud of, and hopefully we can keep this relationship forever.

‘I’m leaving Chelsea after 11 years. I could not imagine myself here today but, you know, thank you very much. I’ve been really proud defending this badge on and off the pitch. It has been my life.

‘On the pitch, all the moments that we have shared with teammates, staff, managers. When I see my first time here at the Bridge and I had the introduction to the fans, and the last game is quite the journey. I couldn’t imagine to be the captain of this football club. I feel like I gave everything. I love it.

‘When I arrived, I arrived to Champions League winners. The dressing room was full of club legends, football legends. I knew that I had to work for my place.

’For me, it’s very important to go in good terms with the club, with the new ownership. I’m grateful for them, for having honest conversation and for showing my the respect. Chelsea is my home. It always will be.

‘Hopefully I can come back one day here to say a proper goodbye to all of you. Keep supporting the team, the club that you love. You are the soul of the club. Keep going. I love you all.’

Kane message sent –

Paul Merson also believes reuniting Mauricio Pochettino with Tottenham captain Harry Kane would be a game-changer for CHELSEA.

Pochettino is now officially at Stamford Bridge to start the job that he agreed too weeks ago – and there is a feeling that a new striker is wanted by the Argentine boss.

Kane is a player that is heavily tipped to leave Tottenham this summer and Merson believes reuniting Pochettino with Tottenham captain Harry Kane would be a game-changer for the club

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID – .

‘They need midfielders and they also need a centre-forward,’ the ex-Arsenal star said. ‘The only player out there who takes Chelsea to another level is Harry Kane, he’s the only one.

‘He takes Chelsea to challenging for the league title again. If Chelsea buy Kane, something would be wrong if they didn’t finish in the top four, that’s how big a difference Kane would make.

‘He scored 30 league goals last season for Tottenham, for Tottenham. And who’s playing with him at Spurs? He has to do it all himself virtually. If he stays at Spurs next season with James Maddison now there, I dread to think how many goals he will get.

‘I cannot for the life of me see Kane join Bayern Munich. Why would you get to within 47 goals of Alan Shearer’s Premier League scoring record and then go to Bayern to help them win the Bundesliga for the 97th time on the trot? Why would you go? What for?’

WILL KANE COME TO STAMFORD BRIDGE?

There is no doubt that Pochettino would love to have Harry Kane at the club and if they offer the right amount of cash – a deal could get done.

If Daniel Levy wants money then we have it and Kane would come here – simply because there is more chances of winning titles

Kepa claim made –

Mauricio Pochettino has been told to replace Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga by Paul Merson

Edouard Mendy’s departure suggests that Pochettino has decided to stick with Arrizabalaga as his No. 1 next season but Merson believes the club are ‘crying out’ for a new world class goalkeeper.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

‘Chelsea are crying out for a new goalkeeper,’ Merson told Sky Sports. ‘You need a goalkeeper who is going to win you points. Having one can half move you up the league quickly.

‘David De Gea gets slaughtered at Manchester United for giving away points, but he gains a lot of points for them, he probably saves more points than he loses.

‘Chelsea’s midfield is crying out for reinforcements too. Everyone has gone.

‘They have got Enzo Fernandez and Conor Gallagher at the club, there is talk of Moises Caicedo coming in, but that is all they’ve got, potentially three midfield players, that is it.

‘As we sit here today, if Mauricio Pochettino gets Chelsea into the top four having only signed Caicedo, you would say he pulled up trees.’

SHOULD Chelsea REPLACE KEPA?

There is a feeling at the club that they have world class stopper in the form of Kepa – and just need to believe that he can develop into the star that they need.

However – he has proven over the seasons that he is prone to an error – that he likes to make mistake – that the back-line do not trust him and he simply isnt good enough.
