Star buzzing after signing up with Chelsea – Blues told £51.2 Million get deal done – Chelsea to sign up triker
Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip that we think you guys may have missed from icchelseanews…
Cole Palmer has opened up and revealed that he is buzzing after agreeing a new contract at Stamford Bridge.
The 22-year-old had an astonishing debut season with the club in 2023/24, during which he scored 25 goals and recorded 15 assists in all competitions.
Palmer has now been rewarded with a bumper new contract with fresh terms, with his deal now not set to expire for another nine years. The England international, who scored in the Three Lions’ Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain in July, signed from Manchester City for around £42.5m last summer.
‘I’m buzzing about the new contract, as you can probably tell!’ Cole tells the club website. ‘The smile hasn’t left my face and I’m just really happy about it.
‘Since the first day I walked in the building, I’ve felt really good here. I’ve felt settled and now to know I’m going to be at Chelsea for a long time means a lot to me.
‘Everyone knows it was a big move for me when I came last summer. I’d been at one place all my life, but I wanted to have a new experience, I can look back at it now and know it was the right decision. I’m happy I made the move and I’m just loving life here at CHELSEA.
‘The season just gone, for me personally, was amazing. I felt trusted in the team and I really enjoyed playing. It makes me excited for the season ahead and I think collectively, we can do some really good things this year.’
JACKSON TO BE SIGNED UP –
Nicolas Jackson is reportedly set to be rewarded by CHELSEA for an excellent debut season with a two-year extension, according to Matt Law of the Telegraph.
Cole Palmer signed up to a massive contract that will now keep him at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2033 – and now it seems that the club are set to offer Jackson a massive contract to sign up.
After months of speculation last summer on what striker could come to Stamford Bridge – the decision was made to sign Nicolas Jackson for a measly fee of £34 million after his impressive season in the Spanish League.
The forward has put in some decent performances during his stay at the club – but there is a feeling that the club will need to add another forward to the attack this summer in order to start competing with the big boys again for Champions League football.
That has led to some stunning reports in the media which had claimed that Nicolas Jackson could actually depart the club this summer and it has been claimed that we could use the striker in their bid to land one of their top targets
According to Matt Law of the Telegraph., that is not the case and now Jackson will be signed up to a similar deal that Palmer was just signed up too.
JOAO FELIX PRICE SET –
Atletico Madrid are holding out for a fee of around of around €60 million (£51.2m) from Chelsea for Portuguese striker Joao Felix, who has been linked with a stunning move back to Stamford Bridge.
The Portuguese 24-year-old, who spent six months on loan at the club in 2023, is said to be willing to return to Stamford Bridge and take a pay cut in order to push the move through.
However, while we have not made an official offer thus far, reports from Spanish publication Marca suggest that there is a sizeable gap in both club’s valuation of the forward.
The Spanish club are keen to recoup more of the €126m fee they paid for Joao Felix in 2019 and will demand around €60m for the striker.
The news comes after Pundit Darren Bent claimed that believes that fans are right to be skeptical about a move for ‘talented’ star – asked if Chelsea’s fans will be excited or worried by the amount of transfer activity, Bent told Drive: “A little bit of both.
“I think with Pedro Neto, fans will think ‘yes!’. With Joao Felix, his debut last time was against Fulham and he got sent off but he looked really good before that.
“I like Joao Felix, I think he’s such a talented footballer but for whatever reason, there always seems to be something missing.
“But I watched him in the Euros against Georgia and he had some nice touches but when you need to score a goal or create something, it’s not there.
“CHELSEA fans will be looking at it and thinking, ‘do we really want him back?’
“Who would you rather play as number 10, him or Cole Palmer? It’s not even close.”
