Spaniard announces Chelsea and Barcelona deal worth world class star ‘is almost done’

Cesc Fabregas claims Cesar Azpilicueta’s move from Chelsea to Barcelona is ‘almost done’.

Azpilicueta has been at Stamford Bridge since 2012 and has become a big part of why they have won so many trophies over the past few seasons, with his solid performances making him one of the best in the Premier League

But he is out of contract at the end of the season and has made no suggestion that he intends to extend his stay in west London.

The 32-year-old has no shortage of clubs interested in taking him on a free transfer, but Barcelona have emerged as the most likely option for the Spain international as they have been long-term admirers of the Spaniard

But Fabregas, who played alongside Azpilicueta at the club and with Spain’s national side, says his former teammate is heading to Barca.

Speaking to Spanish journalist Gerard Romero on his Twitch show Jijantes, Fabregas said: ‘Azpi to Barca, they’re saying it’s almost done.’

When asked about his future this week, Azpilicueta refused to rule out the prospect of leaving Chelsea at the end of the season.

‘I’m not going to speak about my future,’ the Spaniard said.

‘We are one day before the semi-final of the tournament.

‘Of course, I arrived in the summer of 2012 and I didn’t have kids. My kids were born in London and you know how I feel about Chelsea.

‘But I am not going to comment on my future.’

Be sad to see him leave, but maybe now is the right time as he is coming towards the back-end of his playing days?

But i do hope that Cesc is wrong and he stays, as we said, it will be sad to see the guy leave
