It has again been claimed that Chelsea have now agreed a deal to complete the signing of Stopper Gabriel Slonina

Now that there is a new owner at the club – all the speculation – all the rumours about which players will be arriving at the club can now starting place – as the club are free to hold talks – make offers and pay to conclude deals.

That has led to speculation in the media that the club is very much interested in the highly impressive young American stopper Gabriel Slonina – and have even made contact over a possible deal for the Chicago Fires star

However – it seemed that the club would miss out on a move for the player after Slonina’s agent, Jaime Garcia, confirmed the teenager has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid.

Yet – we have seemingly managed to beat off the Spanish giants and agree a fee for the talented stopper – according to ESPN

They say the club have reached a verbal agreement to sign the 18-year-old, who has made 33 appearances for Chicago Fire since breaking into the first team in 2021.

It is claimed that Slonina is currently on his way to west London to complete his medical and put pen to paper on a long-term deal

Slonina is expected to return to Chicago Fire after being unveiled by Chelsea and finish the current MLS campaign on loan before making a permanent move to the English capital in January.

Former Coach Petr Cech is one of the main reasons why Slonina was wanted by the club – so now that he is gone – there were rumours that a deal may not happen

He is a real talent and definitely one for the future – so it will surely be a very good long-term investment by the club
