Paredes drops hint, Skriniar message, Cassano-Higuain message, Luiz talks in Chelsea news and gossip

Here is a roundup of the latest Chelsea news, gossip and transfer speculation from IcChelseanews.

Zenit midfielder Leandro Paredes has dropped a massive hint he could sign for Chelsea after retweeting a video titled “Leandro Paredes – Welcome to Chelsea”.

The Argentine has been a standout performer in Russia this season and his performances have reportedly caught the attentions of boss Maurizio Sarri, who is desperate to add another midfielder to the squad this window now Cesc Fabregas has left the club to sign for Monaco.

The Italian only has five midfielders at the club now the Spaniard has left, and he has even admitted that the club are looking at their options, as we look to keep challenging for the Premier League title and domestic Cup.

Now he has reportedly dropped the massive hint, according to the Sky Sports news website that he is all set for the switch, after recent reports he is keen on the deal.

Former Italy international Antonio Cassano has said that AC Milan would be crazy to let Gonzalo Higuain leave the club, as he wants the move to Chelsea.

With so much creativity in midfield, Maurizio Sarri has made it his mission this January window to try and acquire the services of a new striker to help guide the club back into the Champions League spots and maybe pick up some silverware.

And despite being linked with moves for Mauro Icardi and Callum Wilson, Sarri has seemingly sealed a deal to bring Higuain to the Premier League in the coming weeks, but Cassano has told Milan that they would be crazy to let goal-machine Higuain leave the club.

“For me it’d be madness to sell Higuain,” Cassano told Sky Sports Italia.

“He’s their only decent player, their only champion, and one of the best strikers in the world. I would never get rid of him.

“If Milan are having problems it’s because they don’t have players who can give him the right ball. His movement on the pitch is great, but no one gives him service – that’s why he wants to go to Chelsea. He’s having difficulties but he’s not finished. He’s always able to score and make a difference.

Chelsea are now in talks to hand Brazilian defender David Luiz a new contract to stay with the club, his agent has revealed.

Luiz has become an integral part of the side this season after a terrible time of it under former boss Antonio Conte, show seemingly lost faith on the Brazilian last season after a number of poor performances.

But despite his start under Sarri, there has been some speculation that he could depart at the end of the season for nothing with his contract expiring, and with the club seeking to add a defender or two to the squad, reports have claimed there may not be a place for Luiz in the side.

However, his agent Kia Joorabchian has now revealed that we are in talks to hand Luiz a deal deal when his current contract expires in the summer.

He told The Sun: “Contrary to some reports we are in a very amicable situation with Chelsea.

“We are trying to work out a deal for David Luiz because he wants to stay, the manager wants him to stay and so does the club. I’m sure something will be worked out.”

Recently team-mate Willian lauded the quality of his compatriot Luiz and claimed Sarri has spoken of his desire to keep hold of the Brazilian defender.

“We have to see if the club will want him,” Willian said on the Sky Sports website.

“I think they want (him). For me, I want him to stay.

“David has a lot of quality to do these kind of passes.”

Chelsea have been told that they cannot afford to buy Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar.

With the January transfer window just a few weeks old and on deal already done in the form of Christian Pulisic, there has been a lot of speculation that Maurizio Sarri is keen to add a world class defender to the squad, and Skriniar has been ion the radar.

Skriniar is in his second season with Inter after he was signed from Sampdoria for £15.8m last year, but is reportedly frustrated at the fact Milan will not meet his wage demands and could have pushed for a move away if a deal is not sorted out soon.

And recent reports have claimed Sarri ‘is not satisfied’ with his back-line and has ordered the club to delve into their transfer kitty to acquire the services of Skriniar from Inter Milan, and in turn, beat off Manchester United United in the process.

It is no secret United are also looking to do a deal for Skriniar in the January transfer window and has they have put the defender high up on the shopping list after being impressed with the Milan star over the last few months.

However, Inter boss Luciaco Spalletti has warned that Skriniar is going nowhere, telling the TMW website: ‘Skriniar is staying here, he is out of everybody’s price range.

‘Nobody can afford him.’
