Boss reveals Chelsea can sign attacker with big offer
Diego Simeone has claimed that if Mauricio Pochettino wants to sign Joao Felix then CHELSEA will have to submit a bid which is ‘good financially’ for Atletico Madrid.
After months of speculation and rumours – the club made the decision to bring Joao Felix to Stamford Bridge in the January window in hope that he could reignite the club after a poor start to the season.
However – despite all the hype – Felix’s loan spell at Chelsea has come to an end after the conclusion of the 2022-23 campaign, with the 23-year-old scoring four goals in 20 Blues appearances.
He did not light up the Premier League like many people had hoped – but the board are still keen to make him a permanent signing, with claims that they have now offered £88 million for the man.
However – if you believe the words of Fabrizio Romano – Pochettino has now made the decision that Joao Felix will not return to the club in the summer window
Speaking to El Partidazo De COPE, as quoted BirminghamLive, the Atletico boss said: “Joao is our player. If Chelsea don’t want to sign him as apparently Pochettino decided… he will be back here and he will be part of our team.
‘I can work with him, I’ve no problem at all with Joao. He knows that.”
Then, when asked if there’s been any bids for Felix, Simeone replied: “Bids for Joao Felix? We have to see if the proposal will be good financially for the club, that is crucial.”
