PSG President opens up and hails new Chelsea signing as one of the greatest

Frank Lampard has been told that new summer signing Thiago Silva is one of the greatest players in Paris Saint-Germain history

Silva has been in the headlines over the past few weeks, as there has been constant rumours that he is heading to the Premier League, with a number of clubs interested after he left PSG on a free transfer.

But at the very last minute, we swooped in and offered him a one-year contract to make the move to the Bridge, as Frank Lampard seeks to add a leader to his back-line, and the deal was announced earlier today.

Thiago Silva has been acknowledged as one of the world’s most accomplished and successful defenders over the past decade, winning silverware in Brazil, Italy, France and at international level, in addition to a long list of individual honours.

Now PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has opened up and hailed the Brazilian as one of the greatest players that have ever played for PSG, and thanks the Captain for his many years of services.

He said on GOAL: “Thiago, thank you for these eight memorable years, full of lasting memories and for your involvement, your devotion and your spirit. You will forever be one of the greatest players in history, and your legendary status here at PSG will last forever.

“I wish you and your family the best for your future challenges. You will always be part of the family and the history of the club, a big thank you captain!”
