Title claim made, Big man to be next Chelsea signing, Lowe delighted after Chelsea deal OFFICIALLY announced, Silva sent shock message
Title claim made, Mendy next signing in, Chelsea announce Lowe deal and Silva sent surprise message in icchelseanews roundup..
Nicolas Anelka says Chelsea have a “great chance” of winning the Premier League this season after an impressive transfer window.
We have already brought in Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell in what has been a busy summer in west London, and there is expected to be a few more signings arrive at the club in the next few weeks.
Now, Anelka has opened up and admitted that the new signings that we have made over the past few weeks will give the club a great chance to win that Premier League title over Manchester City and Liverpool.
Anelka told Stadium Astro: “I think they have a great chance to win the title.
“It depends on what Liverpool and Manchester City will do as well.
“But he’s got the quality to finish fourth in the league last season and, with the signings, he’s got the quality to win it.
“It depends after in terms of the experience of the players whether they are strong enough to race until the end but the quality is in Chelsea as well.
“So I believe first, second or third. We will see a great Chelsea at the end.”
Burton have confirmed they will keep 17-year-old Teddy Sharman-Lowe on a season’s loan after the keeper joined Chelsea.
Frank Lampard has been no fool this transfer window and has managed to acquire all the players that he feels will come into the side and make the club challengers for that Premier League title, but many people are forgetting the fact that we like to loan out many of the young talents in order for them to get some first-team experience before handing those players a chance in the first-team.
And Having only just been promoted to the League One club’s first-team for friendlies, Burton have decided to keep Sharman-Lowe on another loan after an impressive stint last season.
And after seeing the move here get announced, he tweeted he was “absolutely speechless” over the move.
“It’s brilliant and it has all happened so fast. Burton have developed me so well and now it’s another new beginning and, hopefully, I can develop further with Chelsea,” Sharman-Lowe told Burton’s official website.
“I’m excited to be joining such a great club, especially as they are known for bringing on young players.
“It has all happened in a flash, from playing for the first team in pre-season, and then joining a top-four Premier League contender.
“I want to say a massive thank you to all the first team staff, Jake Buxton and the players and to Nigel Clough, Dan Robinson, Paul Reynolds, Sam Rose and all the Academy staff for all their help and support.
“I just want to continue training with that support, develop as a player, get a few games and see how it pans out.”

Frank Lampard has been keen to add competition to the goalkeeper’s position amid Kepa’s underwhelming form, and has been eyeing up a number of deals this transfer window in order to get the club more defensively solid.
And that has led the club to Rennes star and Senegal international Mendy, 28, who has been watched by coaches for some time now and has already seen two offers arrive from the Premier League outfit over the last few weeks.
Now Journalist Kevin Palmer claims Mendy, who only joined Rennes last year, could be our next big summer arrival, he was quoted on TalkSport: “I’m hearing that Rennes keeper Edouard Mendy could be the next big arrival at Chelsea as talks reach a crucial stage… but he is not their only goalkeeper option this summer.”
We have already brought in Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell in what has been a busy summer in west London, but Lampard is desperate to add another stopper to the squad in order to shore up that back-line.
Thiago Silva has been warned he will ‘need an oxygen mask’ to fix Chelsea’s defence after his summer move.
We shocked many in the Premier League when they decided to make a move to try and bring Silva to the Premier League after he decided to leave PSG and seek one more fresh challenge.
He is expected to walk straight into this side and be the leader at the back that Frank Lampard needs to push on from a very good season last year, in which they claimed Champions League football and reached the FA Cup final.
However, Craig Burley has opened up and warned Silva that he will need an oxygen masks to fix the defensive issues: “Thiago Silva is going to need an oxygen mask because there is only N’Golo Kante in there who has got any defensive qualities,” Craig Burley told ESPN FC.
“That’s going to be the difficulty for Lampard, striking the balance.
“Mason Mount, who really flourished in his first season in the Premier League, is an attacking player, Kai Havertz played a lot of the season at Leverkusen as a striker, and then you add the front three [Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic] in and it’s ‘over to you N’Golo Kante’ because nobody else is going to be defending.
“Striking a balance with [Mateo] Kovacic or somebody else in there is going to be key.
“Chelsea had one of their worst seasons defensively last year, they lost a heck of a lot of goals, so Lampard knows that he needs to make sure he solidifies his back line, which was a big problem for them. ‘Chelsea are going to be great to watch, you just don’t know which way.”
