Alan Shearer has claimed that he is not worried about Arsenal transfer target Alexander Isak leaving the club this summer

It was no secret that the club were keen on the man way before he made the move to Newcastle – and with new boss Enzo keen to add a new striker to that attack – Isak suits the style of the club.

Reports have claimed that Talks have already taken place between the two clubs and we are ready to pay in excess of the £115 million they spent on Moises Caicedo last summer, which will break the Premier League transfer record again.

But Addressing the speculation over Isak’s future, Shearer told Betfair: ‘I’m not that worried about Alexander Isak being linked with other clubs. I don’t think he’ll leave.

‘I don’t think it can happen. Newcastle supporters would go mad if it happened. What he’s brought to Newcastle and how good a player he is, I’m not sure CHELSEA could afford him either.

‘I’ve seen the reports and I don’t think there’s anything in that at all. I’d be amazed, angry and disappointed if he left Newcastle.

‘He’s been linked with a number of clubs and that shows how well he’s done. He had a really good season.

‘We know what he can do in front of goal. He’s a wonderful player. He likes Newcastle. I’d be amazed if he went anywhere.’

Isak responded to speculation he could leave Newcastle earlier this month, saying: ‘I’m enjoying myself very, very much in Newcastle.

‘I just had the best season of my career. That should not be underestimated. I love everything really about the club, the fans, the city.

‘I actually have no thoughts of a move or anything like that. I enjoy myself fantastically well and am very happy with my life.’
