It is no secret that Varane is now one of the best central defenders in world football, with his performances next to captain Sergio Ramos for the Spanish giants helping the club to a number of Champions League and La Liga title wins.

And now agent Bruno Satin has revealed that Varane is seriously considering leaving the club and giving himself a fresh challenge in the game.

“I spoke recently with Anthony, Raphael’s brother, so we discussed a little bit about the state of the market so to speak,” Satin told Late Foot Club.

“So I think at this moment in his career he is having a profound reflection, I don’t think he has fully decided to leave Real Madrid, but he is thinking about it.

“Because he has won everything that you can at Real Madrid, because he feels like he has the feeling that he has done what was to be done over there, and there could be a new cycle.

“Aside from that, I have not spoken directly with Raphael myself.”

Would Varane be welcome here at Stamford Bridge?

Varane is world class, we are in need of adding to the back-line and if the transfer ban if lifted by the summer window, then the Frenchman would be a world class buy for us, if we can get him for the right price.
