Chelsea deal on as Sarri announces he wants Fabregas replacement signed up!
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has announced he wants a replacement for Cesc Fabregas, with reports we are keen to sign up Nicolo Barella from Cagliari.
Fabregas finally ended months of speculation by deciding to leave the club this month and link-up with former Arsenal team-mate Thierry Henry at Monaco.
[the_ad id=”164″]And with his departure, Sarri has admitted that he is a bit short in midfield and needs to acquire a replacement for the Spaniard, with reports we want Cagliari star Barella for weeks now, with some reports even suggesting that talks between the two clubs have been progressing very well
It is believed the stumbling block has been the price of the Cagliari star, with the Italians demanding close to £45 million, a fee Chelsea are keen to stie down.
Sarri said after the 2-1 win at Newcastle this weekend: “Today Jorginho was in trouble and on the bench there wasn’t a player for that position so I need a player for that position.
“The club knows very well my opinion. I need a player there so it depends on the club’s decision.
“I cannot do any more.”
Is Barella worth the money?
Despite his undoubted ability, there is many in the media who still believe that Barella is not ready to make that big move to the Premier League as he needs another couple of seasons developing in Serie A.
So if a bidding war does take place in the summer, the I hope we don’t pay too much to win the battle for the lad.
