Sarri announces he wants striker at Chelsea and Barnes tells Blues to ‘take the money’ and sell Hazard
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has revealed he expects struggling striker Gonzalo Higuain to remain at Stamford Bridge next season.
Higuain was once regarded as one of the finest goal-scorers in world football and become a legend at Napoli during his brief spell under the guidance of Sarri at the Italian giants, but those days have gone and he is no longer the player he once was.

Many surrounding the club believe that he should be sold back to Juventus at the end of the season and we should try and acquire a striker that can help fill the void that Eden Hazard will leave when he departs the club for Real Madrid.
But Sarri has reportedly made it clear to the board that he wants Higuaín to stay this summer, and has also admitted that if Higuaín stays then the club will do very well next season.
“I don’t know about Gonzalo Higuain’s future, you have to ask the club,” Sarri said on BBC’s Match of the Day, as quoted by Goal.
“If he’s staying then we can do very well in the next season.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool legend John Barnes has urged the club to get rid of Eden Hazard and follow the example of his former club.
There is a feeling in the media that this will be his last season in the Premier League, as he has constantly flirted with the idea of a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid, especially after reports emerged which revealed that he had rejected a contract offer.
And Barnes believes the west London club should learn from Liverpool and take what they can get from Hazard, just like they did wit Philippe Coutinho, who has one year left on his contract.
“I think they need to get away from Eden Hazard,” Barnes boldly stated on Bein Sport.
“I think Liverpool, when Coutinho left, they were a much better team. I think Hazard influences the team so much that anywhere he goes you have to give him the ball.
“They’ve got good players and they can’t show their worth.
“When Coutinho left, as much as he was the best player, the team became a better team.
“And I think Hazard dominates that team so much that every time they get the ball they have to give it to him. I think they’ve got to get away from Hazard because they’ve got good players, like Willian and Pedro.
“But they’re not able to show what they can do because it’s all about Hazard.”
