Sarri officially told Chelsea target Benatia has asked to leave Juventus this month

Juventus are set to re-sign defender Martin Caceres from Lazio with manager Massimiliano Allegri confirming that Chelsea target Medhi Benatia will leave this month.

We have been reportedly been eyeing up a possible move for Benatia over the past few months, with Maurizio sarri in desperate need of adding a world class defender to the back-line in order to help them achieve the goals of getting back into a top four spot.

And despite Benatia being one of the best defenders ion Europe,. it seems that Juventus are preparing for life after Benatia, as the Italians are all set to re-sign Caceres as his immediate replacement.

Reports emerged from the TMW website which revealed Juventus are close to a deal for Caceres, after Benatia revealed that he wants to leave the club during this months transfer window.

Allegri said after Caceres arrived for his medical: “He is not a makeshift solution, but a strong choice, because Benatia has asked to leave.

“It wouldn’t make sense to keep a player who is reluctant. Caceres is a good player and knows this environment.”

Could we snap up Benatia this month?

Benatia is a very impressive defender that has all the attributes to be a big star for us, but there is a lot of talk that he wants the money that clubs in Dubai are willing to offer, and would prefer a move there rather than the dizzy heights of the Premier League.

However, if we could snap up a deal for Benatia, then it would certainly improve our chances of getting back into the Champions League and trying to win some silverware in sarris’ first season.

But if we don’t sign him, there are plenty more fish in the sea that Sarri could try and acquire in the coming windows.
