‘I want you’! Sarri tells Genoa star Piatek he is Chelsea’s top January transfer target.

Maurizio Sarri has told Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek that he is Chelsea’s number transfer target in January, according to reports in the media.

Despite the great start to the new season we are currently enjoying and the continued brilliance of Eden Hazard, there has been some speculation that Sarri is not happy with strikers Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata, who he has given constant chances to lead the front line and score the goals they are paid for.

But so far they have been unimpressive in that sense, meaning the Italian has been eyeing up potential transfer targets to come in and score the 30-40 goals needed to be serious Premier League and Champions league title contenders.

And one man that has reportedly caught the attentions of Sarri, is 23-year old Genoa striker Piatek, who has been scoring goals for fun over in Seria A and is now being chased by the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Juventus.

And now the Metro website has reported Sarri has told Piatek that he is Chelsea’s number one target in the January window, as he is desperate to get the £60 million rated striker all signed up.

Sarri will have the backing of the board and money to spend such an amount on the young striker, especially since he barely got the chance to sign players during the summer transfer window.

Will Piatek be welcome? here is what we think.

Right now Hazard is taking all the headlines for the goals he has been banging in, and that is one of the main reasons we have had such an amazing start to the Premier League season, but eventually he is going to need some help and that is where both Morata and Giroud should come in.

But Morata has been awful since he arrived at the club and looks nothing like the striker he was at Juventus, and while Giroud does a decent job up-front, he doesn’t score regularly enough to be classed as the man that could lead the attack for the next couple of seasons.

And if we can land Piatek for the right price, he has all the attributes to be a real star here at Stamford Bridge.
