Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri tells £100 million Hazard he can leave if he wants

Maurizio Sarri has sensationally announced Real Madrid target Eden Hazard can leave the club if he wants too.

Hazard almost left Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window but stayed after Sarri convinced him to stay put and help us get back to the very top of the game, but that has not stopped speculation that he will departing the club at the end of the season.

Reports have claimed Hazard is holding off signing a new contract  as he is waiting for Madrid to make an offer, with reports suggesting they have made the Belgian their top transfer target for the summer.

And although Sarri would like to keep Hazard at the club, the Blues manager says Hazard is entitled to decide his own future.

“The situation of Eden is different,” Sarri told Sky Sports news.

“Eden is 28. If he wants to go, I think he has to go.

“Of course, I hope the opposite, I hope he wants to stay here.

“He has the potential to be the best player in Europe at the moment.”

Here is what we think.

Hazard only has 18 months to run on his current deal and reportedly believes that a move to Madrid will help in his case of becoming the best player in world football, as well as a better chance to win the Champions League title.

Right now we are a long way off challenging for everything, so unless that changes in the coming seasons, we have no hope of convincing the Belgian to stay put.

If he does want to leave then yes he can leave as there is no point in keeping a player at the club that is no longer interested in playing for us, no matter how good he is.
