Cesc dont go! Sarri opens up and tells midfielder he is wanted at Chelsea
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has told Cesc Fabregas that he wants him to stay at Stamford Bridge.
Fabregas is out of contract at the end of this season and there has been rumours that he will not be signing a new contract, with the Spaniard looking to sign a deal bigger than the one-year the club have been prepared to offer.
That has led to speculation that the likes of Juventus and Barcelona are ready to offer him a way out of Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, knowing they can negotiate a deal during the January window and he is considering his options despite being a regular in the side.
But Sarri has told the Spaniard that he does not want him to leave.
“In this position we have only two players, Jorginho and Fabregas, so for me it would be really a problem without Cesc,” said Sarri on the Sky Sports website.
“I want him to stay, I don’t know the final decision of Cesc and the club of course.
“But for me it’s very important and if Cesc will go I think that we need to buy another player, and it’s not easy because, technically, Cesc is a very important player.
“And I think that in the market it’s very difficult to find a player with his characteristics.”

Fabregas may not start every game for the club and is no longer in his prime, but he is a real quality player and having him in the squad is more beneficial to Sarri then letting him leave the club.
So hopefully we will convince him that Stamford Bridge is where he needs to be for the next few seasons.
