Sarri to upset Emery? Italian boss looking to complete Chelsea deal for Arsenal target Pepe

Chelsea are ready to hijack any possible hope Arsenal have of signing Lille striker Nicolas Pepe in the coming transfer windows.

Gunners boss Unai Emery still has a lot of work to do if he wants to transform his current Arsenal side into a top four side and is expected to delve into the kitty in the winter window to continue his rebuilding of the side.

And reports on Telefoot have claimed Emery has been alerted to the potential of Pepe after some impressive performances this season and is ready to make a move this January.

And even though he has rules out a move to the Emirates this winter, Pepe seemingly open to the idea of leaving and signing for a big club, at the end of the season, telling Telefoot: ‘A preference between Dortmund, Bayern or Arsenal? They’re all big clubs, I was not aware of these rumours, although it’s nice,’

‘Leave Lille at the end of the season? We do not even know what I’ll be doing tomorrow!’

However, reports also claim that boss Maurizio Sarri is now ready to hijack any potential move for the attacker, as he also looks to add to his squad and bring in an attacker that can actually find the back of the net on a regular basis.

Despite his recent good form, in which he has netted five goals in the last six matches, there is still some doubt about the qualities of Spanish striker Alvaro Morata and his ability to score goals on a regular basis, while partner Olivier Giroud is struggling to even find the net having not scored this season.

Is Pepe good enough to make a move to Stamford Bridge?

The lad is only 23-years old and is starting to show some great potential, but he is not good enough to come here and lead the attack, but he is good enough for the Gooners. So we would much prefer if Sarri did not make the move for Pepe as he is no better than what we already have.

Sarri will hands funds to land some big names, so hopefully this is just a rumour and the Italian splashes the cash on a striker that can bring in 20-30 goals per season, like Gonalo Higuaín, Robert Lewandowski or Inter Milan ace Mauro Icardi.

Arsenal can have this guy, we can afford much better quality.
