Mr Sarri opens up and reacts to incoming Chelsea arrival of Serie A superstar Higuain
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has refused to comment on our potential deal for striker Gonzalo Higuain.
After weeks of speculation about who Sarri wants to bring in to solve the striker problems at the club, we have reportedly agreed a deal with Juventus to sign the unhappy Argentine, who has struggled during his time on loan at AC Milan this season.
[the_ad id=”164″]He has not found the back of the net since October and there has been many reports in the media which have claimed the Italians are looking to offload Higuaín this month, and replace him with Genoa goal-machine Krzysztof Piatek.
But despite reports suggesting Higuain is the man that we want, Sarri insists he is focused on on-field matters rather than potential arrivals.
He said on the Sky Sports website: “I want to be clear because I cannot help you. I spoke with [director] Marina [Granovskaia] two weeks ago and she knows my opinion on how to improve the team. Then I decided to be focused on the pitch, on matches, on training.
“Now I am confident because I know Marina is working very hard but I don’t know anything about the market because I want to focus on the matches.
“I don’t call her every evening, otherwise I spend all my mental energy on the market. I think it’s better if I spend them on the pitch.”
Will Higuain be a good buy for us?
Higuain is a top striker that will score goals if he is happy and settled, but he is not the long-term answer to our problems if reports are true as he is coming to the back-end of his career, and his goal-scoring numbers will eventually drop.
However, he is a real superstar of the game and the kind of striker that will make an immediate impact on the side if he does actually sign for the club.
