Forward wanted at Chelsea! Sarri opens up and suggests he wants to sign striker this month
Guest post Iomie.
Maurizio Sarri has hinted that he is keen on signing a striker after seeing his Chelsea side fail to score against Southampton on Wednesday.
Chelsea had the opportunity to cement their top four place with a home fixture against Southampton, and many expected the Blues to come out convincing winners.
But Sarri saw his side fail to find the back of the net, despite having some of the most creative players in the Premier League trying to open up the Saints defence.
That has led to speculation that Sarri is keen on deals for Genoa ace Krzysztof Piatek and Bournemouth hitman Callum Wilson who have all score more goals than both Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud this season.
And now he has suggested that a new striker could be arriving this month, telling the Sky Sports website: “The club knows very well my opinion. I think we need something different for characteristics.
“I’m not in charge of the market. I have to try to improve my players, my team, my offensive phase, or better my offensive phase in the last 20 metres. The club knows my position, my opinion. It’s up to the board.
“At the moment we’re in trouble with the offensive players.”

Chelsea have just sealed a deal for Christian Pulisic, so they are showing they will do business when the right player becomes available.
And with a ton of money to spend over the next few weeks, Sarri will sign a striker if the club can negotiate the right price, with a number of possible targets on the shopping list.
