Low opens up on duo Chelsea signings, Cole sends Rice message ahead of possible move, Chelsea told Aouar price and Sancho opens up on speculation
Low on Werner Havertz deal, Cole sends Rice message, Sancho opens up on speculation, Aouar price set in icchelseanews roundup…
Chelsea have been delivered a blow in their pursuit of Houssem Aouar, with Lyon insisting they won’t sell for anything less than €60million.
With Frank Lampard doing alot of business this summer window and trying to build a side that could dominate for the next couple of years, there has been some rumours that he may carry on his summer of spending by making a move for Aouar.
Aouar has become one of the most sought after young midfielders in the game and just the type of signing that Frank Lampard would love to add to his side in order to give the attack something different
Speculation have suggested that we are ready to swoop in and offer around £35 million to get the exciting midfielder all signed up this summer, but that asking price has now gone up with all the speculation surrounding the man.
According to Fabrizio Romano Lyon know the value of the young man and know that all the interest has now bumped up the players asking price, meaning that they will be asking for more than was expected.
He Tweeted: “They [Arsenal] are absolutely interested and are monitoring the situation, but nothing advanced.
“He’s a top player. They [Arsenal] have spoken with his agent.
“Again – they need to sell, but nothing less than €60m. He’d be one of the best signings this window.”
Germany boss Joachim Low admits he has mixed emotions about Kai Havertz and Timo Werner joining Chelsea.
After months of speculation, we finally managed to secure a deal that would see Havertz make the move to Stamford Bridge and become one of the highest paid players at the club.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder was given permission to leave Germany’s training camp in Stuttgart to finalise a switch after we agreed a £71m deal with Bayer Leverkusen for his signature.
Werner, 24, completed a £45.5 million move from Leipzig to Stamford Bridge back in July after a stunning season in the Bundesliga saw him net an impressive 34 goals for Leverkusen, a tally that Chelsea were very impressed with.
Havertz was pictured in training for the first time on Saturday and Werner has already been raining at the club for weeks as he prepares to test himself in the Premier League, but Low admits he has mixed feelings about the pair making the moves
Reacting to the clubs summer business, the Germany manager said: “I see it as negative when such great talents as Kai are no longer in the Bundesliga.
“But I also see the positives. The players develop their personalities abroad. I think if Kai and Timo take the next step at Chelsea, that will of course help us.”

Rice has been linked with a summer move to the club as Frank Lampard looks to add another defensive midfielder to the side before the start of the new Premier League season.
It has been claimed that we have offered £50 million for the midfielder, and are ready to hand him a massive five-year contract at Stamford Bridge, but as we said, no deal has been struck just yet.
But amid all the speculation surrounding the young man, Cole has opened up and has singled out the key attributes of the England and Hammers midfielder, and reckons Southgate is building his midfield around Rice and believes he has every reason to do so with the attributes he has.
“I would say yes [England are building around Rice],” Cole said on Sky Sports.
“Gareth alluded to maybe Dier wanting to play centre-back a little bit more and I think Rice can step in.
“I think he’s been very good for West Ham, he’s definitely a key player for West Ham.
“What he brings [is] he can tackle, he can break up play, he’s clever, and he can pass.
“So you want him to be brave on the ball, break things up, but then penetrate through lines with a quality pass that he’s got.
“He’s a big, strong lad, he’s not afraid to put himself about and win tackles.”
Chelsea target Jadon Sancho has spoken out on the speculation surrounding his future
The transfer window has been open for a few weeks now, but the speculation linking Sancho with a move to the likes of Chelsea has been in the headlines for well over six months now, as he is the top target for the club.
The mercurial attacker has now come out to address a saga which has overshadowed his pre-season campaign at Westfalenstadion, insisting he is not paying attention to anything away from the pitch.
Asked if he wishes ongoing transfer rumours would go away, Sancho told Sport Bible: “No, the media’s the media. They’re always going to try and create a story, but this is how you manage it.
“For me, I just focus on my football. I just want to do what’s best for my team and win titles at the end of the day.
“For me, it’s about doing well for my team and doing well for myself as well.
“When I have a sh*t game I’m just down. I feel sh*t about myself. So I always like having a good game and showing people what I can do.
“I know what I can do, and if I play bad then I’m just p*ssed off with myself. Next game I’ll try and improve on whatever I’ve done wrong.”
Look, there was a time that we needed the young man, but that time is passed but i would never say no if he came to the Premier League and wanted to join us.
