Guys here is a roundup of the latest news, gossip and transfer talk from icchelseanews.com over the past 24 hours…

Chelsea will not sign Kalidou Koulibaly in the next transfer window, according to Spanish expert Guillem Balague.

There have been some reports in the media suggesting that we are planning for potential new signings in this coming transfer window, as they seek to improve the side.

It will mean that Frank Lampard will be able to delve into the clubs transfer kitty and add a few players to the squad that will add some experience, and quality in the right areas of the pitch, and one name that will be high up on the shopping list is Koulibaly.

Big, powerful, a leader and one of the very best central defenders in the game right now, Koulibaly has been outstanding for Napoli over the past few seasons and his performances has attracted all sorts of interest from the games biggest clubs.

However, Balague has come out and given the fans an update on a possible deal for the powerhouse, who could cost his next club close to £100 million to secure.

European football expert Guillem Balague said on his YouTube channel: “Basically any link like with Koulibaly of Napoli, or any other big player, will face the impossibility of No 1: raising the money, and No 2: spending that kind of money that’s necessary to get a player like this because nobody wants to make a huge investment into a player. That’s quite clear.

“Neither PSG, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City – nobody wants to put £100m on a player.

“He’s more, £100m-plus is what Koulibaly will cost, so forget about that.

“Chelsea have got a priority of course, full-back No 1 and No 2 quite clearly they want a striker.”

Chelsea transfer target Jadon Sancho has dropped a big hint that he is ready to return to the Premier League.

There has been alot said about the future of the gifted young man over the past few months, but it seems that we are one of the favourites to try and secure a transfer deal in the summer window, if he leaves Dortmund.

Frank Lampard wants money to spend, needs money to spend, and needs players like Sancho to come in and give him that superstar factor that he has been missing on the wings since he took over as  boss.

Speaking to Micah Richards and Reiss Nelson on a video for England’s official YouTube channel, Borussia Dortmund star Sancho spoke of how much he was missing his people back home.

“Another challenge,” he said. “This one has been the biggest one yet. Living abroad is a whole different game, away from everyone, family, friends. The sacrifice is deep.

“But, for me at the time, I just felt I was ready to challenge myself and challenge for a place in the first-team and I felt Dortmund was the right place to go at the time.

“Obviously I know their history, they’re bringing through young players and I thought I had a real chance there so I took the opportunity and now, three years later, I’m doing well.”

Fans have once again been told about the contact between Frank Lampard and Dries Mertens over a possible summer move.

Despite all the talk, despite all the speculation and despite all the transfer rumours,  Frank Lampard failed to make any meaningful transfer signings that would have improved the side during the January window, and he would have to get through the second half of the season with the squad that he has.

Mertens is out of contract at Napoli at the end of the current season and therefore could be available on a free transfer, and A report earlier this week claimed that Lampard is desperate to land Dries Mertens from Napoli.

And according to transfer intermediary Vincenzo Morabito, Lampard has been in touch several times with Mertens about that free move to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

“Mertens had originally said he wanted to stay at Napoli, but then his lawyer started offering him to various international clubs, meaning something changed between the player and the Azzurri,” Morabito said

“I know this because I was working on the Olivier Giroud issue when he was meant to leave Chelsea in January, with a lucrative contract line up for Mertens.

“Chelsea have now extended Giroud’s contract as a precaution, but they are very interested in Mertens and Lampard is calling him almost every day. I can see Mertens going to Chelsea.”

Mertens is a world class striker that would be more than welcome here at the Bridge, he could help Tammy Abraham develop and also bang in a few goals.

And the fact he could arrive for free, means he would be a bargain!
