Chelsea tipped to sign superstar, Striker to Premier League deal backed, Werner message sent, Leverkusen have update about possible Havertz deal

Werner message sent, Cavani to Premier League backe,d Director has Havertz update, Chelsea told to sign Sancho in news roundup..
Liverpool legend Phil Thompson has criticised his former club for failing to sign Chelsea-bound Timo Werner.
For the best part of a year the 24-year-old has been linked with a move to Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp said to have called him many times concerning a transfer and Werner himself allegedly wanting to play for Liverpool, but a move to Anfield will not happen as he will rock up at Chelsea.
it is believed that Werner has agreed a massive £175,000-a-week deal to sign with us for the next five years, and will look to challenge Tammy Abraham for that number one spot at the Bridge
But Thompson, who won seven First Division titles during a 13-year spell at Liverpool from 1971, believes Werner would have improved Jurgen Klopp’s side, and has criticised the club for not making a move to sign the German.
He told Sky Sports: “I think you should always try to improve.
“When you’re on the up, when you’re playing well, that’s when you should back it up.
“I would have loved to see him come, but Liverpool have not done that [as] they are thinking it will cost too much.
“Timo Werner will be going, ‘maybe I might get in there’. But maybe Klopp is thinking, ‘we can’t afford to have somebody for that price just sitting on the bench’.
“He will be alright for three of four years. I would have taken that risk. If he wanted to come, I think you have to improve your team when you’re on top and he would have improved us.”
Bayer Leverkusen managing director Fernando Karro has updated fans on Chelsea target Kai Havertz’s situation.
The season is on hold right now, as the coronavirus is taking over the world, but that has not stopped all the speculation in the media about possible signings that Frank Lampard could make at the end of the season.
And according to reports, we are now interested in trying to acquire the services of Havertz, who is easily regarded as one of the finest talents in the game and tipped to be one of the very best players around.
[the_ad id=”164″]Havertz has become one of the most sought after players in the game, as he has scored 20 goals and provided four assists in all competition this season, meaning that this will be his most productive campaign to date.
Now, Leverkusen Director Karro has opened up and admitted that Havertz has shown a desire to make that next step in his career, He told BILD:“For Kai Havertz I see that many clubs are interested in him.
“Kai has been with us for ten years.
“I see the player’s wish to take the next step sometime in the near future.
”You have to respect that just as much as the fact that he has a contract in Leverkusen until 2022.
“You have to try to find a solution where the player’s goal can be reconciled with ours. At the moment nobody can say for sure what will happen,.”
Jose Fonte has backed Edinson Cavani to be a hit in the Premier League amid calls for the likes of Chelsea are still interested.
We have been all over the transfer headlines over the past few weeks and Frank Lampard is seeking to build a side that can close the gap on both Liverpool and Manchester City next season.
He has already signed up the brilliant Hakim Ziyech from Ajax, a deal for Timo Werner has been agreed, but not officially announced, while there are also talks of Ben Chilwell coming to the club.
But you can never have too many top-class players in the side, and after hearing that Cavani is leaving PSG when the transfer window opens up, there has been some reports that the Blues may make a cheeky contract offer.
And Lille defender Fonte, who spent five-and-a-half years in the Premier League with Southampton and West Ham, is excited by the possibility of seeing Cavani in England’s top-flight.
He told TalkSport: “I would love to see him in the Premier League, I think we all would. He’s such a great striker.
[the_ad id=”164″]“He would do great in the Premier League with his approach to the game. He’s a complete striker. Everyone knows Edinson.
“So it would be lovely to see him in the Premier League and see what he can do.”
Paul Merson has urged Chelsea to sign Manchester United and Liverpool transfer target Jadon Sancho after Timo Werner.
We have already started getting their transfer business done ahead of the summer window, as Frank Lampard knows that his current squad is not good enough to compete with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.
Sancho has developed into one of the most coveted players in Europe since leaving Manchester City in 2017, scoring 34 goals in 96 matches for Borussia Dortmund, and Manchester United and Liverpool have both expressed interest in signing Sancho this summer.
But Merson says Roman Abramovich should make a ‘statement’ by securing his signature: ‘I don’t think Chelsea’s spending will stop [with Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech],’ he told Starpsort
‘They obviously still want Jadon Sancho, and if they can’t get him they will probably try for Kai Havertz.
‘Either one of them is going to cost close to £100m. But that kind of transfer pays for itself. Chelsea could get five good years out of Sancho and still get a big sell-on.
‘You’ve got every chance of getting your money back with a player like Sancho.
‘And if Abramovich starts coming to matches again, he will want to be entertained. He won’t care about paying £100m for a Sancho if it helps them play good football.
‘Signing Werner is a big statement. But signing Sancho would be an even bigger one.’
