Guys here is a roundup of the top Chelsea headlines, transfer news and gossip from icchelseanews over the past 24 hours.

Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk believes Chelsea target and international teammate Nathan Ake “has the quality” to play at the highest level.

There was a lot of transfer speculation during the January transfer window involving us after it was revealed that they would be able to sign players and improve the squad, but despite all the speculation and despite all the rumours, Frank Lampard was not able to sign any players.

But that has not stopped speculation in the media about possible signings at THE END OF THE SEASON, and one player that has been heavily linked with a move BACK to Stamford Bridge, is that of Ake, who has emerged as one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League and one of the best young defenders in Europe right now.

And Van Dijk has opened up and admitted that he believes Ake has the quality to play at the highest level, he told the Daily Echo: “First of all, he’s a fantastic guy.

“I speak with him quite a bit at the national team and I think he’s a fantastic player as well.

“On Saturday he showed with clearances and I think he stepped up when he had the armband as well. It’s just good to see that he’s improving.

“I don’t know what might happen with him in the future with Bournemouth, you just have to stay grounded – but I am not worried about that at all.

“He has the quality but he has to have more than just the quality these days. But he’s still young, he’s improving and you never know what decision might happen.

“It’s all dependent on how the season will end for Bournemouth, too – but I am very positive about him. He’s a fantastic guy and player as well.”

Shaka Hislop has claimed that Bournemouth stopper Aaron Ramsdale would be a wonderful signing for Chelsea if they made a move, but would he be welcome?

There has been a lot of speculation in the media over the past few months which has suggested that Frank Lampard is keen to offload Spanish stopper Kepa in the summer after becoming frustrated at the young mans performances on a weekly basis.

And that has led to speculation in the media suggesting that Lampard is keen to add a new stopper to the side, with Athletic Madrid star Jan Oblak the number one target for the club

But Hislop has opened up and told the Blues that they should make a move for Ramsdale, who has been one of the most impressive stoppers in the Premier League this season for the Cherries, Hislop told ESPN FC: “Yes. Ramsdale has been simply outstanding, there’s no other way to put it.

“And you understand Frank Lampard’s and Chelsea’s frustrations with Kepa and as much as there’s been a link with Spain, I still think that move is easier said than done.

“But let’s just say somehow they get everything sorted and Kepa moves on, Ramsdale comes in, I think he does a wonderful job for Chelsea.

“I think he has been outstanding for Bournemouth in a very difficult circumstance.

“He’s been solid. Looking at him early on, as a young goalkeeper, you’re looking for weaknesses in his game and I don’t think he has an awful lot.

“I think he improves thanks to experience but he’s a solid shot-stopper.

“He always looks composed within the goal, has a real presence about him which is not something I say about many goalkeepers easily.

“And aerially I’ve been impressed, or there’s nothing that’s concerned me, so I think he only gets better.”

European Football expert Gabriele Marcotti has claimed Chelsea should sign Jadon Sancho and not Leon Bailey in the summer.

There has been alot of speculation in the media suggesting that we are willing to splash around £85 million in the summer to try and acquire the services of Bailey, who has become one of the most exciting wingers in the Bundesliga over the last few seasons.

Frank Lampard is keen to bolsters his squad at the end of the season and improve the side enough to get back challenging for that Premier League title, and also as a possible replacement for the likes of Willian and Pedro. who have been tipped to leave the club at the end of the season.

However, Marcotti has opened up and claimed that we should not pay £85 million to sign Bailey in the summer and instead try and acquire the services of Sancho, who is one of the most creative players in the game right now and has already netted an impressive 14 goals in the Bundesliga this season.

Marcotti does not think Sancho would cost much more than Bailey and therefore says he would be a better signing for Chelsea: “Alright, with all respect to Leon Bailey I think these numbers are crazy,” Marcotti told ESPN FC.

“£85m for Leon Bailey when Jadon Sancho, who is younger and a lot more talented in my opinion, can be had for not much more than that…

“Personally I see this as one of those stories that gets put out there, obviously Chelsea are chasing Jadon Sancho along with a host of other clubs, and all of sudden these stories go out ‘Oh but what if they went for Bailey instead?’ and maybe that lights a fire under some people.

“But for me I don’t see it, I wouldn’t spend that kind of money on Leon Bailey.”
