Rice message sent, Chelsea told to hand Rudiger contract he wants and Raphinha update in Chelsea roundup…

Leeds United plan to rebuff any overtures for star winger Raphinha, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool

Raphinha has been the best player for Leeds for the last few seasons, but he has really shown just how good he is this season, despite the poor results that the club have been picking up.

He has scored eight goals in the Premier League – twice as many as next top scorer Daniel James. He also has two assists to his name from 21 games in the English top-flight.

Leeds are hopeful of holding on to the Brazil international beyond his current contract, which expires in 2024, but IcChelseanews has learned that Raphinha wants to explore his options and is looking to hear what other clubs have to offer.

And that has led to many reports in the media suggesting that Chelsea are a club that are willing to make an offer in the transfer window, especially as Thomas Tuchel  always wants to add some more quality to his squad.

But according to the Daily Mirror, Leeds have taken the decision to rebuff any offers for their star man in the the summer as they have no intention of letting him leave, and will hold him to the contract that he has recently signed

Raphinha recently insisted he is not distracted by the enormous speculation surrounding his future or the question marks over his contract situation at Leeds.

‘I’ve got a contract until 2024, my head is totally here and focused on Leeds,’ the Brazilian told BBC Radio Leeds.

‘As for contractual matters, I leave them to my agent and my dad.

‘I just focus on playing my football and making the Leeds fans happy, scoring goals, providing assists and getting victories for the team.

‘Contractual matters are for my agent, my focus is on making people happy with my football and doing as best as I can for Leeds.’

Chelsea linked linked Declan Rice has been urged to eschew offers to leave West Ham in the summer by comedian and superfan Russell Brand

Over the past couple of seasons, Rice has developed into one of the very best stars of the Premier League and his performances has also led to reports that this could behis last season at the Hammers

We have joined Man United in the chase to sign Declan Rice in the summer, even though David Moyes has suggested that the Hammers will not accept anything less than £100 million for the player.

But amid all the speculation, superfan Brand has opened up and told Rice that he should stay at the London outfit.

Asked by talkSPORT’s Alan Brazil on what he would say to the midfielder, Brand launched into his plea, stating: “Don’t go, Declan – stay! Be the Trevor Brooking of our time. Don’t go the route of everyone!

“Stay with the heart, become a hero. We love you Declan. I knew Chelsea was your first love and it is obvious they’re going to come calling, but we love you more. You can everything to us.

“You’ve learned that the tutelage at the feet of Mark Noble, be his apprentice, be everything. Be Devonshire, McAvennie, Paolo Di Canio, all rolled into one! Stay Declan, we love you!”

Look, if the Hammers get inside that top four spot and give Rice the Champions League football that he is looking for, then they will have no worries going into the summer transfer window

But if they do not, and his ambitions are to play at the very highest level now and win trophies, then the right offer will see him depart West Ham.

Paul Merson has encouraged Chelsea to hand German defender Antonio Rudiger the contract that he wants

Rudiger has been in the headlines alot over the past few months as there is alot of speculation about whether or not he will stay at the club, or leave to join the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus, Bayerun Munich or Juventus

It is no secret that the club , who could lose up to three defenders in the summer window, are very keen to make sure that he stays at Stamford Bridge as he has been in fine form this season

But those displays have only strengthened Rudiger’s belief that he should be one of the club’s top earners and he has an offer on the table from Real Madrid to move to Spain

We were taken aback at the start of the season when Rudiger demanded around £200,000-a-week but it has been claimed those demands have since increased, with the defender now seeking around £225,000-a-week.

Now after seeing the German put in another solid performance against Crystal Palace at the weekend, Arsenal legend Paul Merson has told the board exactly what they need to do to keep Rudiger

He simply said: “Give him the money.”

Although many believe that he has already decided to leave the club, he has given the club a boost by admitting that he wants to win the Premier League: “Of course, I want to win the Premier League,” he said. “We had never won this trophy (the Club World Cup) in Chelsea’s history before. I’m very delighted that we didn’t give up, that we did our thing. We tried everything and won.

“I just want to help, I just want to be important and lead by example. This is the main thing. We all showed character against Palmeiras. None of us gave up.

“Thiago Silva gave away the penalty (for Palmeiras to equalise) but he didn’t lack anything. He continued and continued.

“And there was a great impact from the guys who came on from the bench, Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic, Malang Sarr, Timo Werner and Saul Niguez. They all worked very hard.

“The Premier League is the toughest competition because Manchester City set a very high standard. We have to get to a point where we can go on a long marathon.”
