Rudiger opens up and announces he is working on getting Havertz to Chelsea
Antonio Rudiger has admitted that he is trying to convince Kai Havertz to make the move to Chelsea
The Bayer Leverkusen attacker is on the brink of making his transfer to the club official and will join Germany teammates Rudiger and Timo Werner at Stamford Bridge when an official announcement is made in the coming days.
It is believed that the German has already agreed personal terms on a £190,000-a-week contract over the next five years with the club, and a fee in the region of £90 million has now been reached between both clubs.
Germany play Spain and Switzerland in the Nations League and ‘agent’ Rudiger explained he has been working on Havertz just like he did earlier in the summer when the Blues beat off competition from Liverpool for Werner.
“I did speak to [Werner]before because we have known each other for a long time,” Rudiger told chelseafc.com.
“We spoke a lot during the lockdown and he told me he was interested in coming to England. Of course then I did my bit, what I had to do.”
Look, adding Havertz to the side is something that we have been talking about alot over the last few months, but the announcement is surely just around the corner and fans can then welcome the signing that they want most.
He is a top-class player that has real quality and we cannot wait to see him make that move to the club, he would be more than welcome at the club.
