Prem boss opens up an has big update as Chelsea look to wrap up £70 million deal
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has given an update on the future of Chelsea target Ben Chilwell.
Emerson Palmieri made a strong start to the campaign, but has been dealt with several injury problems and Chelsea have had to turn to Marcos Alonso, who you feel is not a particular favourite of Lampard’s.
Cesar Azpilicueta has played in that position, despite being a right-back, while Reece James has also done a job on the left, so we will need to delve into their transfer kitty to try and acquire the services of a new left-back, especially after they failed to get any deals done in January.
But Asked if the Foxes are tempted to sell, Rodgers told TalkSport: “I’m sure you can imagine the answer.
“We are pretty relaxed on it. He is a fantastic boy to work with and he’s very driven to help us achieve what we want to.
“It is a sequence the club is used to after the past few years. When you have a talented group of players, they are always going to make the headlines.
“He’s come back and he looks absolutely fantastic. During the lockdown, he’s been able to go away and reflect on his game.
“He’s come back refreshed. From everything that he’s done both in training and in the games that we have played behind closed doors, he’s looked exceptional.”
If we really want the man, then we will get a deal done as we are not holding back spending that money.
