Rice to demand Chelsea move, Mendy officially signs, Chilwell makes admission and Chelsea reveals why Mendy was signed in icchelseanews roundup…

Edouard Mendy and Chelsea have admitted their delight after the stopper agreed to make the move to Stamford Bridge.

It is no secret that Frank Lampard was looking to add another stopper to the side this summer after being left unimpressed with Kepa last season, and that led to reports that Mendy was on the shopping list.

Mendy has been impressing over in the French League with Rennes and has been constantly watched by the scouts, and after a few weeks of talks and rumours, he has now agreed to make that move to the club on a five-year deal.

And he has admitted his delight at the move, he told the club website: ‘I am so excited to be joining Chelsea. It’s a dream for me to be a part of this exciting squad and to work with Frank Lampard and all of his coaching staff.

“I look forward to meeting my team-mates and can’t wait to get started.’

Look, there is no doubt that we have been brilliant in the transfer window this summer and signing the unit of Mendy will add a bit more quality to the squad and makes us alot more defensively solid.

Marina Granovskaia has opened up and revealed just why Chelsea decided to sign stopper Edouard Mendy.

There has been no doubt that we have been the most active side in the transfer market this summer as Frank Lampard looks to build a side that is capable of winning that Premier League title.

The strike-force has been improved, the midfield has been added too, the defence has two top-class players added to the squad and now Frank Lampard has managed to add a stopper to the squad that will give the club more options other than Willy Caballero or Kepa.

And Granovskaia has opened up and revealed why we decided to splash the cash and sign the big stopper on a £22 million transfer deal, On signing Mendy, Granovskaia said on the club website: ‘As soon as Petr Cech and our technical team identified Edouard as the most suitable goalkeeper to complement our existing group, there was only one player we wanted to bring in.

‘Edouard arrives following a season of real success with Rennes, he is ambitious for more, and we welcome him to our club.’

Ben Chilwell has revealed Frank Lampard has told him the could become the best in the world at Chelsea.

Chilwell was linked with so many clubs at the beginning of the transfer window that no-one could tell where he would go, but at the end of the day, we were the club that swopped in and managed to secure a transfer deal.

And  Chilwell revealed the extent of his conversations with Lampard before choosing to make the switch to Stamford Bridge in the summer on that five-year contract.

“It is a fresh challenge. I am out of my comfort zone which is something I think that will improve me,” the 23-year-old told the club website. “It’s a great team, a great club and I am looking forward to working hard here.

“I remember chatting to the gaffer at Leicester and he was really good about the whole situation. He said this would be good for my career and that if I come here and work hard, I can push on because the type of football here suits me.

“He said I could go onto be the best or one of the best in the world in my position. That’s what I want to do now I am here. I want to win stuff and improve myself.

“Personally, I want to become one of the best in the world in my position, and it feels like, with this team, that we can win a lot over the next few years as well. When I come to the end of my career, I want to have won everything that there is to win, and I think that at this club we can do that.”

Declan Rice is reportedly set to tell West Ham ‘I want to join Chelsea’ this summer transfer window.

We have just completed another transfer deal in the shape of Edouard Mendy to challenge current number one Kepa, but it is heavily expected that the club will make one more transfer move to try and bring Rice to the club.

Rice is one of the best hoping midfielders in the Premier League and has been tipped to become one of the very best in the game, but he needs to make that big move to a big club in order to make that next step in the game.

And amid all reports in the media which are claiming that we are preparing a massive £70 million deal to try and get the man signed up, the midfielder is reportedly going to tell the Hammers that he wants to make the move to Stamford Bridge.

Speaking on the Here We Go podcast, Fabrizio Romano said: “Chelsea are trying to do the same [as Liverpool]. ‘We want the big targets and not the plan B back up option.’

“If you talk with West Ham, you have to be honest, they’re saying the player is staying and the player is not moving.

“It won’t be easy and Chelsea are now considering selling players.

“But Declan Rice will push to join Chelsea. He will go strongly to join Chelsea

“We will have to see what will happen because he also respects West Ham as normal but he’s going to tell West Ham ‘I want to join Chelsea’.”

He will be more than welcome if the reports are true.
