Gianluigui Donnarumma has taken to social media amid speculation that Chelsea have begun talks over a potential transfer deal.
It was no secret over the course of the summer transfer window that we were very interested in trying to secure a transfer deal for the big Italian before they opted to complete a deal for Edouard Mendy.
But the clubs interest has remained in the Italian this season, especially as there is constant speculation about his future at the Italian giants, and the fact that he has not agreed a new contract to extend his stay beyond the current season.
Despite his tender years, the 21-year-old has been the club’s first choice between the sticks for some time, and looks set to fill the role of the Italian national team’s long-term successor to Gianluigi Buffon.
And reports over the past £24 hours have suggested that we gave made their moves to try and convince Donarumma that a move to Stamford Bridge is the right one to make.
However, the big Italian is not letting all the speculation go to his head, as away from the transfer talks, Reflecting on what was a difficult 2020 for most, Donnarumma took to Instagram and wished everyone a Happy New Year.
“After a difficult year like the one experienced, I wish all of us a different, indeed normal, 2021,” he wrote. “Because the thing we need most is normality.
“And for us, who are ready to face the new year with the same spirit, grit and determination as always, the norm would be to be able to get our fans back to the stadium as soon as possible.
“Happy 2021 to all.”
Tony Cascarino reckons West Ham star Declan Rice could offer Chelsea added security in midfield.
The club tried to get a deal over the line over the summer window, but gaffer Frank Lampard was reportedly unable to make a move after the club spent £200million in the summer improving on other areas of the pitch.
However, amid all the transfer speculation linking we with a move to try and sign Rice, who would cost the club around £80 million to acquire, Cascarino has opened up and told Lampard that the Englishman would bring a bit more protection to that back-line.
Cascarino told TalkSport: “Declan Rice can protect people.
“I learnt this early on in my career, one of the biggest skills you can have is do the simple things really well and if you can, you’ll be one hell of a player.”
Chelsea Director Marina Granovskaia has been told why they must sign Gianluigi Donnarumma, after it was reported that Chelsea had made contact about a possible deal.
News broke just a few days ago which had suggested that we are looking into trying to acquire the Italian International at the end of the season, knowing that he is out of contract with Italian giants AC Milan.
With the winter window now open, the youngster is able to speak with teams outside of Italy in regards to signing a pre-contract, and reports over the past £24 hours have suggested that we gave made their moves to try and convince Donarumma that a move to Stamford Bridge is the right one to make.
And if the club are successful in their efforts to sign the Italy international, they will be adding one of the best goalkeepers in the world to their ranks at Stamford Bridge, That’s according to Milan legend Paolo Maldini.
“It is certainly Milan’s duty to try and keep hold of an important player like Gigio, for what he represents as a symbol, a player who came up through our youth academy and, in my humble opinion, because he is the best goalkeeper in the world,” Maldini told DAZN last year.
Declan Rice will be Chelsea’s top target throughout the January transfer window, but transfer guru Ian McGarry has opened up about a possible deal.
It is no secret that we are keen to try and secure some sort of transfer deal for the young midfielder, as they reportedly see him as an upgrade to the ageing Ngolo Kante.
Rumours continue linking Rice to some of England’s biggest clubs, Ian McGarry claims the we may find it hard to land Rice in the winter as West Ham appear to prefer to hold on to their midfielder until the summer.
McGarry said in the latest episode of The Transfer Window Podcast: “That chase will be upped in this window upcoming, however, the expectation at Chelsea is that perhaps West Ham prefer to sell in the summer and not in the January window.
“However, Chelsea will continue to pursue it in both windows and with the player, as they understand it, intimating that he would certainly be very attracted to a move to west London, then that’s something they will continue to pursue.”
Rice is a top-class midfielder that is enjoying some game time with the Hammers, and right now, he does not need to leave the club and make that step up, he has many years left in the game.
But if we do make some sort of transfer offer in the January window, it will be very interesting to see just what the midfielders decide to do as the player would certainly improve the current Blues squad.
