Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed CHELSEA can’t justify a £88million deal for Joao Felix.

After months of speculation and rumours – the board made the decision to bring Joao Felix to Stamford Bridge in the January window in hope that he could reignite the club after a poor start to the season.

However – despite all the hype – Felix’s loan spell at Stamford Bridge has come to an end after the conclusion of the 2022-23 campaign, with the 23-year-old scoring four goals in 20 Blues appearances.

He did not light up the Premier League like many people had hoped – but the board are still keen to make him a permanent signing, with claims that they have now offered £88 million for the man.

But when asked if the club should steer clear of a permanent deal for the forward, Agbonlahor told Football Insider“100%.

“When you’re talking about 100 million euros, he hasn’t done enough to justify that.

“He’s been on the bench a lot. He suits certain teams, but for that price – it just hasn’t worked.

“He’s had some nice touches, some nice goals – there’s a good player in there. But Chelsea just can’t pay that much.

“It’s too much. There’s a reason why Atletico Madrid don’t want him any more.

“He hasn’t performed to the levels they want, and he hasn’t done much better at Chelsea.”
