Chelsea deal being blocked, Alaba open to Premier League move, Pulisic to cause problems  and Chelsea title contenders in icchelseanews roundup..

Christian Pulisic will offer Chelsea boss Frank Lampard a “good dilemma” once he returns to full fitness, says Ashley Cole.

Frank Lampard was handed some serious money in the transfer window and invested very heavily on improving that attack, with the likes of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech all brought into the club.

Werner and Ziyech have been thriving, with the former netting again in a 4-1 win over Sheffield United while the latter starred as a creative influence in that contest, and Havertz has been enjoying some great game time in the opening weeks of the game.

United States international Pulisic may now face a fight to recapture his place once recovered from the latest hamstring problem to hold him back, with others impressing in his absence, and Cole says Lampard will be embracing the selection headache he now faces.

The former Chelsea left-back told Sky Sports after seeing an ambitious outfit hit fifth spot in the Premier League table: “Frank has a dilemma but it’s a good dilemma.

“Pulisic at the back end of last season was on fire and everyone was like, ‘Wow look what this kid can produce’. He was the star of the team at the time.

“But now, with so many attacking options, it will be difficult at times when everyone is fit.

“I love having Mason in midfield. I think he brings energy, the quality and freedom for other players to thrive.”

Chelsea are reportedly being blocked in their attempt to sign Anel Ahmedhodzic from Malmo his father claims.

Ahmedhodzic, 21, has caught the eye of the club who have been monitoring his performances along with a host of other European clubs over the past few months, and there has been some speculation that the Blues are trying to secure a deal and win the race.

It is said that PSV Eindhoven and AC Milan are also interested in him and have sent scouts to watch him play, but His father Mirsad believes we are willing to prise his son away from the Swedish club for a fee of £6.9million.

However, he thinks the deal is being blocked by his son’s representative Markus Rosenberg who refuses to listen to their offers, he was quoted on the SUN: “He’s [Rosenberg] not doing his job. He has told Marina [Granovskaia] at Chelsea that Anel is not going there. He [Anel] wants to go abroad after the season finishes.”

Meanwhile, Ian Wright believes we have what it takes to mount a serious challenge for the Premier League title this season.

There has been alot said about the start to the new season that this side have had after spending so much money in the transfer window, but we are now starting to keep the clean-sheets and the score the goals that many expected from Lampards’ side.

Wright was asked if Frank Lampard’s side could be a threat to Liverpool or Man City, and he told Premier League Productions: “Yes, with what they’ve got.

“But like we said there’s a little bit of fitting the pieces together and I think the goalkeeper [Edouard Mendy], Thiago Silva, [Hakim] Ziyech coming in, [Kai] Havertz coming in, Werner coming in – I think those players and the quality and the standard of those players yes they should be [challenging for the title].

And Arsenal icon Wright has been impressed with Chelsea’s recruitment in the summer and has backed them to challenge for the Premier League crown.

When asked if Frank Lampard’s side could be a threat to Liverpool or Man City, Wright told Premier League Productions: “Yes, with what they’ve got.

Chelsea target David Alaba is open to the idea of making a move to the Premier League.

There is big speculation in the media that he is not happy with the current contract offer that has been placed on the table, and is now considering his options this transfer window.

The Austrian international is out of contract at the end of the season – having rejected a new deal reportedly worth £190,000 a week – and despite being a key player for the European champions, he could be on the move.

And according to reports on 90mins, he is now open to the idea of making the move to the Premier League, where there are a number of clubs that are seemingly interested in a possible transfer deal

But amid the speculation, Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge insists that the door is still open for Alaba to stay at the club.

HITC quote Herr Rummenigge as telling Sky Germany: “David Alaba has been with FC Bayern for over twelve years, he has been an important player over the years.

“He has won an incredible number of titles with us, has been two triple winners with us.

“It is important to that you put the quality of the player and also of the people in the right light. “

“If David wants to stay at Bayern, which I am not ruling out entirely, the door is still ajar.

“Then you have to think about finding a way that is easy on the face for both parties.”
